We’re not really sure when Team Red Bull Honda’s Ben Townley will be returning to racing, but while testing some products for an upcoming issue today, we spotted him spinning some laps aboard his new ‘09 CRF450R at Perris Raceway. While we didn’t get a chance to catch up with him today, check back later for an update on his plans for the new year.

Townley is hell-o-fast!! In 2007 he and Poto were on another level. I look forward to seeing that battle again in the near future. He could be the sleeper in the 09 outdoors?

on the video, the guy on the yellow 43 gave him a run for his money. i dont see him coming back to supercross halfway through the season. hes better outdoors and if hes slowed down a bit, supercross is too risky

I bet the 43 was Eli Tomac…..and Ben didn’t look like he was going all out…more like a sunday afternoon stroll in the park^^

Whats up with his radiator shrouds?

I think the radiator shrouds are bent in because some riders complain of getting their boot stuck on the edge of the shroud.

It’s not the boots. It’s the top of the knee braces that hook up. Check out the awesome vid.
