Lites Main.
The first of the two main events came to the gate with Nico Izzi and Wil Hahn hoping to carry their heat wins into the main. But it was clear that the Pro Circuit teammates of Pourcel and Stroupe want to add another title to Mitch’s trailer, and they would do whatever it took. For the second time in two weeks a red flag was thrown on the first lap to bring the race to a complete restart. A chain reaction started after what seemed like Darryn Durham catching a Tuff Block and collecting anyone near him in a heap on the first turn soil. Nico Izzi was too busy checking out with the seven other riders who made it out in one piece to notice the carnage; that is, until he came to the finish line. The second start would be missing Durham, Martin Davalos, and Philip Nicoletti, as damage or a mechanical problem would keep them off the track. The gate hit the dirt and Pourcel led Stroupe, Steven Clarke, Matt Lemoine, Levi Kilbarger (who was forced to bump start his bike before the main), and Izzi to a clean first lap. The teammates would battle for the first two laps, until Stroupe made the close pass on Pourcel and grabbed another gear to extend his lead. Pourcel would watch as Stroupe pulled away, and would himself build a gap on the battle of Izzi and Lemoine that was continuous behind his 377 machine. LCQ transfer rider Tyler Wharton found his luck totally run out, as he was checked into the blocks before the finish line, and would spend the majority of a lap freeing himself. Wharton would later finish seventeenth. Vince Friese battled with Brad Ripple in the first half of the race, and would edge GPS Racing member for the position. At lap seven, it was clear Matt Lemoine was starting to ease off, but then he wicked up a charge to reel in Izzi that would have many watching the battle continue for the final six laps, until a mistake before the triple sent him to eighth. Muscle Milk KTM’s troubles didn’t stop after Davalos’ DNS, because Wil Hahn tweaked his bike in a get off and the tried to fix it by hitting it on the Asterisk Medical mule. Hahn would later pull off with fifteenth place. The top 5 was filled by Austin Stroupe, Christophe Pourcel, Nico Izzi, Branden Jesseman, and Steven Clarke who both capitalized on Lemoine’s misfortune.
