What We Liked:
-The A-Series jersey is suitable for most temperatures, with ample mesh in key areas, plus the tighter woven panels on the front and back of the jersey.
-Jersey collar is probably one of the least abrasive collars you will ever wear, as there is no stitching around the neck line.
-The pants have a form fitting cut, that still allows plenty of movement with no restriction without excess material.
-Waist closure is very secure, and the additional side closures ensure a great fit for your ride.
-The gear has a different look that is subtle yet still very appealing.
What We Didn’t Like:
-The pant waist sat a little high for some test riders.
-The pants liner, while comfortable, has a tendency to snag on your knee braces during removal.
What We Really Think:
Although 2010 is the first time Scott has offered gear in the United States, they have long had a full lineup of gear in Europe. So even though it’s new to us, Scott has been at this game for quite a while, and as they do with the rest of their equipment, the A-Series gear has some unique offerings. The jersey is one of the more comfortable we have used, thanks to the well-distributed mesh in the under arm, torso, and wrist areas (making it very breathable), loose cut, and seamless neck line/collar. The pants have durable leather inner knees, some mesh areas for breathability, and move very well with the rider. As we mentioned, the waist is set a little higher than the average MX pant, but once out on the track, you are hard pressed to notice. We have been using the Scott A-Series gear for several months now, and overall, we have not found much to complain about; just a good, solid, and versatile line of gear.
