FROM KTM.com KTM presents brand new Innovations at the EICMA 2009 |
| Milan, Italy. KTM is presenting a range of innovative new motorcycles at EICMA 2009, recognized as the world’s biggest annual motorcycle trade fair. On show will be a radical new 350cc Motocross prototype. |
KTM 350 SX-F FACTORY RACING
By presenting a 350cc pre-series racing bike, KTM again illustrates the typical determination of the Austrian company to go its own way. With the confirmation in Milan of the key data of the 350cc, including injection and linkage, the tradition-rich offroad specialist is forging “a new path” in Motocross. While the company’s 250 SX-F and 450 SX-F models have been so successful and oriented to suit the specific displacement of the sport’s regulations, now KTM is the first manufacturer in the world to present a 350cc displacement bike for the sport of Motocross. The completely new bike, which will be “ready to race” from 2010 carries the distinct development signature of MX legend Stefan Everts right down to the finest detail. With this project, the KTM MX team boss deploys meticulousness and all his unique ambition to catapult it to a new MX level. A concrete date for series production of this already very mature prototype has not yet been decided.

HAHAHA, one pic and almost everyone is like WOOOW IT KICK ASS LOL! hahaha. I could be good, it could suck, ill wait and see. I think theyre making the 350f cuz it will have more wear and tear than the 450, = more $$$$ for KTM
November 11th, 2009 at 4:14 am
thing is badasssssss
November 11th, 2009 at 4:26 am
Screw the new 450 Yamaha, this KTM will smoke its A$$.
November 11th, 2009 at 4:44 am
you know thats funny you say that because although the bike may look good you must remember the yamaha 450 is a 450 not a 350 which means it has 100 more cc's which means bigger bike better bike
November 11th, 2009 at 4:47 am
350 is as light as a 250 and just as powerful as a 450 so your actually wrong : /
November 11th, 2009 at 4:49 am
if you remember it will be lighter and the 250s are almost as fast as the 450s at nationals. which means bigger heavier bike
November 11th, 2009 at 4:53 am
finally have linkage
November 11th, 2009 at 4:57 am
i want this for off-road and mx
November 11th, 2009 at 5:07 am
alessi is gonna win motos on this sick bike outdoors
November 11th, 2009 at 5:11 am
havnt you noobs learned already, its not the bike its the flipping rider!
November 11th, 2009 at 5:24 am
250s are not "almost" as fast as 450s, there is a huge difference between the two.
November 11th, 2009 at 5:42 am
One hot machine…. This page should be classified as porn!
November 11th, 2009 at 5:46 am
in what category this bike will race? 250 or 450?
November 11th, 2009 at 6:08 am
it cant race 250 cause the rules say the engine cant be any larger than 250 cc. so it could only compete in the 450 class. im not quite sure about this bike tho. i guess its perfect for the rider that is ready to move up from 250 but not quite ready for the big thumper.
November 11th, 2009 at 6:10 am
Displacement will not allow it in the Lites class and with the Supercross class technically being an Open class now, it will run with the big dogs.
November 11th, 2009 at 6:17 am
oh those Austrians and their crazy inventions

November 11th, 2009 at 6:36 am
It's the rider anyways…
November 11th, 2009 at 6:45 am
Yeah right, u have NO idea….if it aint JAP its CRAP.
November 11th, 2009 at 6:48 am
Ahhh…… we all should be riding 2 strokes. They are cheaper, more powerful, and in my opinion, more fun and easier to jump. 450`s are too much anyways. I way 210lbs(not fat) just tall, and a 450 rips your arms out and makes you tired. I couldn`t imagine the power to weight ratio of a 150- 170lbs person. Too much. Too much money, time to fix, and power.
November 11th, 2009 at 6:51 am
wow that is the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life.
November 11th, 2009 at 7:27 am
steel frame?? carb?? still unboxy arrow-ish plastics?? exhaust without built in slip and slide?? not blue?? alessi on the seat?? epic fail!!!!!!!!2010 yz450f is way cooler than this thing
November 11th, 2009 at 7:28 am
we all have to wait and see but it sucks cuse we have to wait till may.
November 11th, 2009 at 9:11 am
and alessi is a good rider
November 11th, 2009 at 9:13 am
its fuel injected, not carbed
November 11th, 2009 at 10:27 am
My SX-F 280 eats YZ-F450's for breakfast
November 11th, 2009 at 11:24 am
thats why they also have the 250, 150 and anything smaller than a 450. they wear more if they are smaller. so i dont think thats entirely true.
but i think that the 350 will be good for consumers like me who are too big for a 250 and too small for a 450.
It will also be better for tight SX tracks as it will be lighter than a a 450, and have a similar power output
November 11th, 2009 at 12:07 pm
Crf 450r anyone? Looks pretty similiar
November 11th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
mike says this bike is amazing and will win races, but he will be training with Cairolli and racing on it from january so we'll see, but i still think villopoto is in a class of his own outdoors, so it doesnt matter what bike people ride there not gonna win! maybe bubba, if he stops being showtime!! and chad is still a joke!!haha
November 11th, 2009 at 1:04 pm
Why is this not a 350 2 stroke fuely??? I'll tell you why, The big corporate money monster. That's Why. KTM has sold out as well. 727
November 11th, 2009 at 2:08 pm
Hey, I have both a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke ktm and they are both great. Chassis parts are interchangeable, both have been bullit proof, and extremely effective for the niche I bought them for. A 200 xc for woods racing/ riding, and a 525 with a plate for the desert etc. It is cool they are making a different displacement four stroke. If there wasn't a need there wouldn't be so many big bore kits for 250fs. I believe twmx is always testing the "fastest big bore 250" or ultimate vet weapon. Lets hear it for change. I'll bet every posting hater would get off this bike with a smile….
November 11th, 2009 at 2:30 pm
junk
November 11th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
hit the gym if a 450 has to much power for ur lil arms. i way 170, can bench about 250. i have never had a problem with my arms getting sore. 450s can put the same lap times as a 250 down using half the energy….in my opinion
November 11th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
ya cuz villapoto did so good last outdoor season…
November 11th, 2009 at 4:22 pm
I want to be a factory ktm rider! Honda hates me! =( but, I like that 350! orange sauce =P and yeah…it´s like an orange honda XD love u guys! peace…
November 11th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
It's the start of the end of the 450's . Just like the open class bikes they were too much for most so they got the chopping block . I think the 350 will be a winner . Lets bring back the 2 strokes i think it will be fare game against 350's but then a gain a good rider on a 2 stroke will kill the 350's . we need the 2 strokes back in a big way
November 11th, 2009 at 4:38 pm
and this is she sharpest looking bike ever!
November 11th, 2009 at 4:47 pm
man next year im taken a 250 im takling a 350
November 11th, 2009 at 4:47 pm
i ment im not taking a 250 but aq 350
November 11th, 2009 at 4:58 pm
nice bike .finally a link. 350's rev like a 250 but still have big bore grunt.chrome moly is STILL and exellent material for frames, nice bike only one problem ,it has to deal with the BLUE rocketship with the cylinder on backwards. time will tell!
November 11th, 2009 at 5:09 pm
this bike is awesome.can wait to see cairoli ride it…
November 11th, 2009 at 5:25 pm
Hey ivan i have a KTM you can ride mine and if the linkage is the deal breaker we can swap the one off the kx 100 we have. so sad dude reprents the USA and gets the shaft…..
November 11th, 2009 at 5:25 pm
Orange Honda??????? WTF ??? Who said something stupid like that???
I think Honda owners should be proud by now …for some people to compare that work of art w/ a honda! Steering dampner that's not a steering dampner, header that's one mile long and so vulnerable(yamaha showed how to do it), suspension that doesn't work, just bad bad news for the red guys!
This bike is going to make a lot of people shut their mouths! For years KTM have used the PDS system that worked great…but some of the Jap-fans…could never accept that…even those that never rode a ktm on their life!! Now…the bike comes fuel injected, linked, plus with all the nice parts KTM always had (renthal fatbar, hydraulic clutch, brembo brakes, blk excel wheels, wide pegs, regina chain, aluminum sprocket, easy access air filter, wave rotors…etc…etc) so what is going to be the complain now?? Just because the japaneses just have one way to do things…does not matter that everybody have to follow that way! KTM proved thru several championships win that's one of the finest machines out in the track..and definitely is the best VALUE bike as far as you pay what you get!
November 11th, 2009 at 5:26 pm
We all know…that the 250F and the 450's are coming with the same style frame and suspension…and now on Cairoli's and Alessis hands….we are going to see what the riders and the bikes are capable of…
Just sit and wait
November 11th, 2009 at 5:48 pm
Yeah, it still doesn't negate the fact of cost to repair and maintain a four stroke. Only reason the 450 is alive is due to marketing and the AMA rule of displacement. Why are we(and I mean you) riding a bike that requires twice the displacement of a 2 stroke, costs way more money, and if it(actually when it) explodes you are out 2000 grand to rebuild. I'm out 200 and taking the rest of my money to take your mom and sister out for a date.
November 11th, 2009 at 5:53 pm
Yeah man! Everyone has swallowed this 450 bullshit! Thanks to marketing and AMA rules, they destroyed the 2 stroke. Anyone with half a brain knows that the 2 stroke is a superior and MUCH cheaper engine to maintain and rebuild. Amazing what people will buy with good marketing.
November 11th, 2009 at 6:43 pm
Think of it as a bored and stroked 250. It will turn more rpms than a 450. Its lighter than a 450. Power is more usable than a 450. Bigger don't always mean better. Look at the 500's of the day. There werent a whole lot of people in the world who could ride it to its full potential. Most guys were faster on a 250. You are applying too much video game knowledge to real life.
November 11th, 2009 at 8:41 pm
No Kickstart?
November 11th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
the time to build a motor? I just pulled my motor out with my dad, put it back together with new rings, head gasket, and seals. took about 2 hours to do. four strokes have way more torque and power than a 2 choker. why do u think everyone races them? c'mon dude, get with it
November 11th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
ice cream to eskimos… i ride an 02rm125 and still get good starts at southwick am races, going uphill in the sand against the big bad 4 strokes. i have as much/maybe more fun than alot of people for way less money, which is badass i think
November 11th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
Perfect bike!!!! Been waiting for this. Who can ride a 450 to it's full potential is my hero anyways. The 250 4-stroke needs hop ups and the 450 is too much to handle. Don't think that fuel inject was necessary though. When and where can I pick one up so I can romp on all the 2010 yamaha 450 bandwagon f#gs
November 11th, 2009 at 11:04 pm
WHEN IS KTM GONNA MAKE A ALUMINUM FRAME!!!! OMG
November 11th, 2009 at 11:58 pm
i'd take this over those ugly new yamahas
November 12th, 2009 at 1:31 am
Awesome! Best looking 2010 model by far.
November 12th, 2009 at 2:24 am
Sorry guy, 4 strokes don't have way more torque and power, If fact it's just the opposite. If they did, then they wouldn't have to be almost twice the cc's and you wouldn't have 450 racing in the 250 2-stroke class. Let's face it if the rules didn't allow for almost twice the cc's to handycap the 4-stroke, we wouldn't be having this conversion. 2 strokes have more torque and power per cc, Period!
November 12th, 2009 at 2:39 am
wheres the kick starter!?!?!?!
looks like the copied Honda's idea with the white back fender
November 12th, 2009 at 2:44 am
NEWS FLASH…..November 10__AUSTRIA DROPS THE K BOMB ON JAPAN .__Japanese dominance may start to crumble on the world stage.__Austria's finest engineers plan mass production of a __weapon built for mass distruction. Setting aimed on the America's __and any other who THINK they have game!__But seriously Our first ktm was a 02 KTM 50lc jr and had some design issues as a new model__Surprisingly these were upgraded quickly,__next was an 04 65 that had undergone the same diligance threw a couple production years and this years model won LL,with a CANADIAN rider on it ,this class was total controlled by green+yellow less than 5 years ago.__85/105sx 125-150 same deal, in fact the R+D and production changes they do on all models is unreal for such a small manufacture in a tank of sharks. The contribution to the KIDS in the sport is unequalled by any manufacture. The KTM Jr SX challenge comes to mind what a cool deal that was for hundreds of kids__Kudo's to them for them for putting some attention on the customers who have many more purchases to make.__I know one teen who will only ride one colour till he's done.__Thank you KTM for the heart you put into your product__#396__
November 12th, 2009 at 7:35 am
.I f anyone can get off the 2010 yamaha 450f hype band wagon for a while, im sick of hearin about it. That ktm 350 is bitchen. and if your worried about the displacement lets not forget a couple of years back when Villapoto smoked the best riders in the world on a 250f at MXON including Carmichal on a 450f . Its 99.9% rider and when you all see Allesi holeshot everyone numerous times this summer we will see.
November 12th, 2009 at 1:07 pm
MXA and many others feel that the steel frame is really good.
It's got EFI.
The YZF is more 'arrow-ish' than the KTM.
Alessi is on the seat.
Katoom For the win!
November 12th, 2009 at 3:20 pm
But potto burns him !
November 12th, 2009 at 3:25 pm
too bad alessi rides suzuki dumb a$$
November 12th, 2009 at 3:28 pm
yea your just a little girl obviously, im 16 and weigh 135 pounds and a 450 doesnt rip me appart. i like the four strokes way better, a lot better throttle response and a lot funner to ride.
November 12th, 2009 at 4:03 pm
whay do u need a aluminium frame??
November 12th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
too bad your an idiot and he switched back to ktm, noob
November 12th, 2009 at 5:33 pm
Looks like something you could buy at Home Depot.
November 12th, 2009 at 6:10 pm
You weight 135lbs and i'm the little girl? OK.
November 12th, 2009 at 6:24 pm
kool bike but its still a ktm their still huge and run like shit thats y there always last in the line ups and all this talk about 2 stroke are u guys high?? i weigh 150lbs and ride a 250 and 450 im 6'2 i love my 450 my dad calls it a cheater bike y do u think that 4 strokes have taken over the factory world duhh because their better hondas 2010 250 rules the 250 class fuel injected and it mirrors the 450 with mapping hondas are still the best performance bike available
November 12th, 2009 at 7:21 pm
You've got it right there…"more fun than alot of people". If someone likes 4 strokes then ride them…if you like 2 strokes then ride them. I believe that the AMA displacement rules are ridiculously in favor of the 4's, but does that mean 4 strokes suck in general? Not really. And for the record I ride a Yz250.
November 12th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
if they took off that cannanon size muffler, and big ass gas tank and shortened that wheel bas maybe it ride better. looks a bit heavy than it should?
November 12th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
I'm too big for a 250f. (190 lbs). get too hurt too much on 450's. (broken 24 bones, numerous surgeries). I think a 350 might just be the happy medium for me. I'm usually out in the desert jumping cliffs or at ocotillo hittin natural terrain. This just may be the perfect bike for my style. I just hope it doesn't have the 09 honda bugs with the first year fuel injection
November 12th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
rofl… maybe wr 450s
November 12th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
Bloody right you are!
November 12th, 2009 at 11:57 pm
yamaha blows
November 13th, 2009 at 12:49 am
thats bull, i way 150 pounds and can hang on to a 450, you just have to train your butt off to ride it well and for a longer period of time. i will say they have a lot of power and are hard to hang on to if you dont train
November 13th, 2009 at 1:35 pm
actually KTm has a 300 2 stroke for enduro, they didnt make a MX bike coz it would not fit in any of the classes coz its too big.
November 13th, 2009 at 1:40 pm
now ive been riding KTMs all my life, and ive never had a problem with the PDS system. But after riding a kawi (with a linkage) i must admit that it was allot more comfortable in corners and absorbed bumps better.
It is a personal thing, but i think the linkage is the right way to go for KTM.
November 13th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
and honda and kawi copied KTM in 2008 with the super slim number-plates
November 13th, 2009 at 1:44 pm
ditto, just broke 3 ribs on my 450.
never broken a bone on my 250, but there is a shortage of power
November 13th, 2009 at 5:25 pm
You guys need to calm down, and KTM DOES have an advantage with HP in all of there engines. I don't have dyno specs to link you guys but the 250SX-F motor produces more than the rest.
Hp means nothing if the rider can't use it.
November 13th, 2009 at 5:26 pm
lul
November 13th, 2009 at 8:08 pm
the bike makes it hard for me to decide i was set on the yz450f but now?
November 14th, 2009 at 1:11 am
electric start! come on.
it has everything!
November 14th, 2009 at 2:46 am
I always have thought that KTM's are nice looking bikes.
November 14th, 2009 at 6:36 am
Chuck said it all if u think this big looks or probably performs like crap you need to get into another sport
November 14th, 2009 at 7:33 pm
it took them so many years to realize that mx bikes needs linkage!
lets see how many years is it gonna take to put an aluminum frame on it?
November 14th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
so much love on here!
November 14th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
hook me up with some mc nuggets on your way back from the date!
November 14th, 2009 at 11:12 pm
im all 4 alessi winning the nationals in 2010! but rv did the smart thing and got his knee worked on.
November 14th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
yeah a 350 four stroke and a mod out 250 two stroke would b pretty good to compare
November 14th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
peace 2 all.
November 15th, 2009 at 3:23 am
why they don't try once to stay ahead of JAP and they put a CARBON Frame !!!
November 15th, 2009 at 12:23 pm
haha that is the ugliest bike I m not a KTM fan! but if it handles good and runs good cant complain!
November 16th, 2009 at 12:25 am
i'm very happy for you.
November 17th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
Prob Open class. As for the pros… who knows
November 17th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
Yea it is still not going to help Alessi out one bit. He could strap a rocket to his back and it still wouldn't help.
November 17th, 2009 at 8:55 pm
now add the cost of the head.
November 17th, 2009 at 10:00 pm
The only thing wrong with the Honda's is a rider to show what the bike can really do on the big stage (Supercoss/Motorcross). No offense to K-Dub, Millsap or Short etc. Actually K-Dub was about as close as we Honda guys have come to a Champion in many years. Bottom line, Honda Quality is #1, always at the top of the heap for year to year on critics Shootouts. Bike is proven again year after year. Don't get me wrong KTM is a great machine and I have ridden them as well but my CRF450R is still a stronger bike apples to apples. My favorite of the KTM's I tested was the 525. I am by no means a big guy (5'9" 155lbs) but it just pulls so long and hard.
KTM's have been popular in Europe for years and countless championships in many disciplines proving there worth. We North Americans have only recognize the "orange" here for a fraction of it's history. Now you see them everywhere, I think it's great to have another brand in the mix. It all pushes the sport forward. Or backwards if you are a Yamaha guy. In someways it makes sense, yes, only time will tell if going backwards make you go forwards better:)
November 17th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
oh ya well I can bench 251
November 17th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
450s do rip and are easier to ride but 2 strokes are fun to. oh yea is funner a word?
November 20th, 2009 at 5:01 pm
are you retarded? how can a 350cc four stroke possibly be faster than a 450cc four stroke? it ISNT!.. it all depends on the rider…
November 21st, 2009 at 2:21 am
screw u man that yamaha is the bomb. have fun paying double for broken parts on that stupid ktm
November 21st, 2009 at 2:25 am
i like this man. long live the YZ!!!!!!!!!!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 9:31 pm
HAHA. yeah maybe for a few moments before it blows up.
November 24th, 2009 at 7:37 am
this is a purpose built machine…a 350 s 2 stroke would be all well and good aside from the fact that it would have no place in AMA motocross or supercross
November 24th, 2009 at 7:38 am
If this really is IT9, you should know that of the 3 Honda boys, you were the only one who deserved to keep his ride.
November 24th, 2009 at 7:41 am
i agree… but the fact remains, honda doesn't need a top guy. they have nearly half of the mainstream market to themselves, while the other half is split between kawi, suzuki, yamaha, and ktm. James Stewart and Mitch Peyton are this only reasons why anyone would even consider a Kawi… they suck and are very expensive to fix in relation to Hondas.
November 24th, 2009 at 7:43 am
This bike looks like a blast…I see only one problem..Its a KTM! Enjoy your bikes that overheat easily and burn oil like a 2 stroke burns premix… I'll stick with my Honda, thank you.
November 24th, 2009 at 7:46 am
its for the smart rider…think about it: only a handfull of people in theworld can ride a 450 to its full potential. For the rest of us who can't, that extra hp is just wearing you out faster. Not only that, this bike is supposed to be much lighter than the 450.
November 24th, 2009 at 7:47 am
450 class. Period.
November 24th, 2009 at 7:50 am
the 2010 yz450f is a great machine, in theory… in theory, communism works, in theory
December 4th, 2009 at 12:38 am
well i can ride on 1 wheel assholes! what now? u wanna race?
December 4th, 2009 at 12:40 am
well i can run fast too
December 4th, 2009 at 6:00 am
I really wish Honda made one of these!!! 150 pound rider on a 450 is a blast….for three laps!!!! This I could go at least 5 on!!!
December 7th, 2009 at 5:59 am
villopoto wont be beat by allessi
December 7th, 2009 at 6:03 am
yeah dude two strokes are the ticket. Dont get me wrong I ride a YZ250F and i love it but i was born and raised on a two stroke and i miss the smell and ping of those two stroke race bikes. If your fast on a two stroke you can ride, a four stroke just makes you faster with less talent
December 15th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
this is a nice ride. may is a long wait though
December 17th, 2009 at 12:15 pm
awesome bike ! I got the ktm 450 , 2010. I think i will have to buy this one next year !
December 20th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
shut up you dyke
December 24th, 2009 at 8:51 pm
You put a D rider on this thing, it will suck. You put an A rider on it, it changes things completely. Same thing with the YZ450F. Has nothing to do with the speed of the motor when your on a track with turns and jumps. Come on guys, don't be effin retarded here. Are MX tracks evolving to straight lined quarter miles??? NO! If you're good enough, anything will win races…
January 4th, 2010 at 7:15 pm
bro,u r right!!!!
January 6th, 2010 at 5:12 am
I AGREE DUDE!! STEEL frame…..HELLOOOOOOO!! A pumpkin is a pumpkin!!
January 8th, 2010 at 1:14 am

January 8th, 2010 at 4:28 pm
My dream bike! When can I buy one?
January 11th, 2010 at 8:11 am
and im 17, 6' tall weighing at 205, 450 may have not ripped my arms apart but it did tire me out quickly.
January 13th, 2010 at 3:56 am
Trust me,I don't think KTM has sold out,I believe there may be some method to their madness! Look at it this way….It's lighter than a 450 - It's fuel injected -If Aleesi wins on it the Japanese companies will produce 350cc MX bikes and if the AMA does'nt twist, bend, rape&destroy the rules like they did to keep the 250 2t from competing with the 250 4t than we all may finally get to see our beloved 250 2-strokers back in MX & SX racing! I mean let's face it,we two stroke fans would'nt mind if the KTM 250sx 2t or the Yamaha YZ-250 2-strokes were allowed to race against 350 4-strokes now would we? I think NOT,because if this were to happen I do believe the Japanese would start producing not only 350 4-strokes but also newer and more refined 2-strokes!That way we would all come out ahead !!! "Maybe even the occasional 350 4t" LOL Sincerely, Jeff Flick
January 13th, 2010 at 4:16 am
KTM is smart enough NOT to make a crappy have to be oversized frame!!!!! The 4130 chrome moly frame on KTM's is in my opinion……and a lot of other people of higher intelligence opinions a MUCH better material to make a MX/SX bike with! LOL Sincerly
January 13th, 2010 at 5:09 am
NO Saso550, Are YOU HIGH ??? You must have been when you said KTM's run like shit. That KTM must have needed some well over due maintainence! PS , 450 4-chokes have'nt taken over the factory world because their better at racing or because their faster or because their prettier or anything else ludicris like that ! It's because they make lots & lots & LOTS of money for the manufacturer….SURPRISE ! and Honda, especially Honda of all manufacturers is making the most !!! Yeah I said it. Honda is making the most money ripping people off like you with their crappy 4-chokes! Why do you think a 150Ib. 6'2" girl like yourself can ride that 450?Why did your beloved Honda cr450f come in 4th place in the 450 shootout while the KTM 450sx-f came in 1st.Todays Japanese 4-strokes have the life span of a gypsy moth & your not smart enough to know any better! Here's a little advice.Sell that crappy, just ripped you off honda 4-smoke& go buy a 2010 KTM 200xc-w or maybe you should go with a used KTM 105xc.It should'nt be too much for you to handle. LOL
January 15th, 2010 at 5:22 am
I can't wait to see Mike Alessi smoke all of the Japanese 450f's this year during the MX season !!!
January 15th, 2010 at 5:36 am
Villipoto is a great rider but I do believe Alessi will have a very good chance of winning the outdoor season.Remember Mike Alessi is the "HOLESHOT KING" not to mention ol' Ryan is picking up a few pounds "no pun intended" and Alessi is still pretty slim & trim just like the badas? KTM 350sx he'll be pulling holeshots with.
January 15th, 2010 at 6:08 am
Hey you,YEAH YOU ! That steel frame on that wicked bada** 2010 KTM 350SX is 4130 chrome moly steel & your info on a carb is WRONG! PS It's fuel injected and those arrow-ish plastics you refer to are like that for better aerodynamics! As far as Alessi goes it's like this BADASS FUEL INJECTED 350cc KTM +AERODYNAMICS + The HOLESHOT KING Mike Alessi = A 2010 MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP for KTM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 15th, 2010 at 6:44 am
It's electric start dummy. It does'nt need a kickstarter KTM keeps their bikes light. KTM had white fenders on their MX bikes long before Honda ever did. Way back in the 80's and early 90's KTM's had white fenders & blue seats. The only Japanese bike manufacturer that has ever copied off of another was probably Yamaha when they started using white plastics on the YZ's in the early 90's…..I wonder what European dirtbike manufacturer Yamadog copied that idea from…????
January 15th, 2010 at 7:09 am
WOW brett hottel,Have you ridden that KTM 350 already? I did not know it was being sold to the general public yet…?!! By the way, that muffler you call a "cannanon size" muffler is a very high performance Akrapovic exhaust. The same brand exhaust system that James Stewert uses on his Yamaha SX bike.By the way, what do you mean by a "cannanon" size muffler? Or did you mean a "CANNON" size muffler? LOL LOL LOL……………………………………………..
January 15th, 2010 at 7:47 am
I don't think KTM is going to use an aluminum frame anytime soon because they are a lot heavier than KTM's steel frame. Also KTM has had a linkage MX frame developed for years & their linkage bike actually helped them in developing the PDS System.Without linkage their MX bikes are a lot lighter than the Japanese bikes with linkage. The main reason that the Japanese brands started using those boxy/heavy aluminum frames is because they lacked high quality steel in Japan & other Asian countries & if they bought high quality steel from Europe it would'nt be cost effective and then your Japanese bikes would end up costing a small fortune therfore they developed the boxy, heavy aluminum frames we see on the Asian bikes today.
January 15th, 2010 at 10:41 pm
I think we all need 500cc to 700cc 2-strokes! I better get macco…I mean I better get a MAICO!!!
January 15th, 2010 at 10:56 pm
You go ahead and stick with your clutch burning, weak powerband, goes through its piston in 8 hours aluminum can framed honda buddy.I'll stick with the durability & RAW 2-stroke power of my KTM 300xc.
January 15th, 2010 at 11:00 pm
Now what if someone said that about your mamma?
January 15th, 2010 at 11:02 pm
Lunkan is VERY SMART!
January 17th, 2010 at 8:03 am
Chrome molybdenum high carbon steel! It can be have a lighter and thinner section. Japanese bikes used to have mild steel frames that stretched out after a season or two.
January 17th, 2010 at 8:08 am
So are you some kind of industrial engineer or something, Einstein? The 350 is not suppose to wear you out as much as a 450 at the end of a 35 min. moto.
January 17th, 2010 at 8:12 am
Sorry gangster, but it looks like Honda has gone to a chopped down side panel style while this KTM has gone back to an old school design. Additionally, the factory Hondas finally have hydraulic clutches and master cylinders just like the KTM production bikes have had since 1999!
January 17th, 2010 at 8:13 am
KTM also had a 360 two stroke in 97 and a 380 in 98 and 99.
January 17th, 2010 at 8:15 am
Do you mean what came out of your momma's womb?
January 17th, 2010 at 8:36 am
How about NEVER!
January 17th, 2010 at 8:41 am
Try push button start gangster! Factory Honda finally got smart and copied the hydraulic clutch from KTM (which they have had since 1999). Maybe next year Honda will put it in production like they did that lame four spring clutch basket!
January 17th, 2010 at 8:44 am
Is that the Home Depot your sis was meeting her pimp at?
Hondas and Kawasakis are gonna be made in Taiwan next year!
January 17th, 2010 at 8:46 am
Every Jap MX bike I ever owned ran like shit after a season. Got tired of having to fix shit they skimped on to save a few bucks in production.
January 17th, 2010 at 9:01 am
Ya, the Honda that drains gas into the crankcase for no reason. That stinkbug honda with a lousy 4-spring clutch that has a flat power band and makes 3 HP less than the 2010 450 SXF. Even though it is lighter than any other bike in its class, it still doesn't have a electric starter or a hydraulic clutch either (the 2010 Factory Honda finally have a hydraulic clutch just like production KTM's have had since 1999!). Did I mention it flames out in off idle situations? Read more than one magazine test before you comment gangster. I won't have to spend as much money on a KTM to fix anything than one would have to spend on the new CRF 450 to fix its flaws!
January 17th, 2010 at 9:08 am
Just like Factory Honda finally realized the benefits of a hydraulic clutch and master cylinder? The Irony, KTM puts linkage on a 2011 model, and if Honda can afford it the 2011 CRF 450 will have a hydrualic clutch.
I hope I never see an aluminum frame on a KTM. Why do all the bikes have to be the same gangster? Chromo is a great material for frames.
January 17th, 2010 at 9:22 am
But you Yamaha will brake parts twice as fast Snuggie!
January 17th, 2010 at 9:23 am
Taiwan in the next year or so!
January 17th, 2010 at 9:25 am
He was doing better than most everyone else in the 09 Nationals until he broke his knee.
January 17th, 2010 at 9:27 am
Try push button start, gangster!
January 17th, 2010 at 10:37 am
Ya, and Brett can estimate the wheel base and the bikes weight by these two pictures alone! What else can you tell us about the bike, Brett?
I know that the bike shown DOES have a TRAX shock and Cone Valve forks, but only because Cycle News shows HD versions of the same pics that you can save and then zoom in on the detail.
January 18th, 2010 at 10:09 am
Looks like a cr-f. It even has the white rear fender like all new Hondas. Why cant KTM make there bikes with regular fenders?
Nothing against KTM but…
January 19th, 2010 at 8:37 pm
it depends on where you race. if your raceing on an ama track it would be placed in the 125 class unless you wanted to enter a 250 class
January 19th, 2010 at 10:55 pm
that's the most retarded thing i have EVER heard.
January 20th, 2010 at 5:22 pm
what class would you race this in an ama pro race. the AMA cant make a new class because that means that ktm would always win so kinda pointless
January 22nd, 2010 at 10:08 pm
Everyone sees this thing for the first time and they all like, "WOW THIS IS THE BEST EVER! TRUST ME!" lol lol lol. WHAT KINDA CRAP IS THAT? come on people.
January 24th, 2010 at 12:38 pm
Nice bike! I love the fact that KTM makes all their products race ready. It seems to make sense to me to pay a few more dollars up front, and have all the goodies installed at the factory. Look at the triple clamps, hubs, rims, pipe, bars, even the grips. I'm kinda diggin this company!
January 27th, 2010 at 3:23 am
KTM's are really nice bikes! I own a 300xc 2-stroke of course because 90% of the riding I do is in tight woods or rough, rocky fire roads I have to say that the KTM -XC or XC-W models are the absolute best offroad bikes built bar none!!! The only thing I can complain about is the stock seats on the Mighty Katooms tend to tear & flatten out easily but that's a very simple and low cost fix.I bought a Acerbis seat for my 300xc & although it was a little bit costly it has been well worth it to have a seat that NEVER gets water logged and is comfortable as well as tough as nails! I have owned Suzuki RM's and a couple Suzuki 4-wheelers but ever since I got my 08 KTM 300xc I'll NEVER buy any other brand but KTM! I just hope KTM continues to make the 300cc 2-strokes because that is the PERFECT ride for me…..!!!
January 27th, 2010 at 7:53 pm
I think they're gonna have to race it in the 450 class? rules state you cant have a bored out bike in the MX2 class.
January 29th, 2010 at 11:47 pm
Hey Me,What do you ride? You probably don't even own a bike! And what gives YOU the right to call a bike you have never rode junk! If you do own a bike it's probably a Honda!
January 30th, 2010 at 12:16 am
I don't have anything against Villapoto however I really expected him to start the Supercross season off alot better! Especially now that Reed is out for at least the next 6-weeks I would like to see Ryan Kick ass & take names! I am a KTM fan 100% but I do like Kawasaki's.I owned a Tecate 250 2t three wheeler back in 1988-89 & it had mega tons of POWER but when Motocross season gets here I'll be looking for Alessi to take charge and get a Championship for that Awesome KTM 350sxf !
January 30th, 2010 at 12:54 am
You Go hOleshOt ! Tell that snapperhead wussy wanna be tuff guy who's opinion is WRONG!!! 250 2-strokes can hang with the 450 4-chokes with the right rider even having a 200cc bigger engine! In a long MX race the 450 rider becomes tired & worn out trying to muscle the big & bulky 4-choke around the track.I really hope the Japs come out with a 350cc 4-smoke like KTM & the AMA "albeit corrupt" let's the 250 2-strokes race against the 350 4-chokes! Men like you & I know what would happen if the powers that be would start playing on a equal playing field ie. 250 vs. 250 or 450 vs. 450 meaning equal displacement 2-strokes & 4-strokes!
January 30th, 2010 at 8:10 am
Thanks for the back up. But, it's not really an opinion. More a matter of fact. 4 strokes are a far less superior engine in a motorcycle when compared to the 2 stroke. GRRRRRR, that was my manly 2 stroke growl for ya as well.
January 31st, 2010 at 8:54 pm
carrots and other stuff cant compete with suzukis and thats it:)
February 2nd, 2010 at 11:10 am
carrot is better then a banana.
February 8th, 2010 at 11:22 pm
omfg all of you guys who think this looks like a honda r idiots u just think it looks like a honda cuz it has a white rear fender and ktms are actually the best and fastest bikes and there more expensive because the come with all the aftermarket parts that u would eventually need to buy anyway and u cant just say a bike is junk and have never ridden it
February 8th, 2010 at 11:27 pm
both of u r dumbasses the 350 is just as fast and powerful as a 450 just lighter and a smaller motor cc's stands for cubic centimeters
