Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross

Riders turned out in droves for the first ever Daytona Amateur Supercross, and by all accounts it was one very fun day of racing. With perfect weather,  several hundred riders in attendance, and 24 different racing classes, you could not have asked for a better day. After the pro riders showed their mettle on Saturday, the Daytona circuit was tamed down slightly for the amateur racers, but was still run on the same basic layout, and still became rough and rutted. Considering that only professionals have ever been able to ride on the Daytona International Speedway infield, this was a very unique event that will hopefully become an annual event. Take a peek at this photo gallery for a look back on Sunday’s racing.
