Monday Kickstart: Toronto

This year was one of the best Toronto races so far. After last year’s “dry mud” race that had frozen dirt thawing during the evening, the great conditions on Saturday offered up some excellent racing. In the Supercross Class, Ryan Villopoto took another little chunk out of Ryan Dungey’s point lead, and it is now down 17. Perhaps the most exciting part of the evening came when Justin Barcia was able to claim his first ever Lites victory in only four tries. If not for his poor finish at the Atlanta round, Justin would certainly be in the championship hunt right now. Nevertheless, one of the most talked about riders this year is backing up the accolades with results. Now that he has his taste of blood, the competition better watch out.

When there is plenty of extra space on a stadium floor, officials will often let the riders and mechanics come out and warm up within the stadium for staging before their practice sessions. As you can see, they use this time to get totally situated, with goggles and holeshot devices all set to go.
