FMF/KTM Whisky Tango Roost Day

FMF and KTM recently hosted their second annual Whisky Tango Roost Day. Held at Perris Raceway, the event was a chance for the media and pro riders to team up for what turned into one very fun day of riding. The day started off with an open practice with some very fast riders tearing around the perfectly groomed track. Riders such MXers as Jason Lawrence, Grant Langston, Weston Peick, and Sean Borkenhagen were on the gas all morning in preparation for the relay race. Other fast guys included a whole slew of fast off-road racers, a group we do not typically see at the race track. KTM also had their brand spanking new 2011 250SX-F and 350SX-F on hand and plenty of goodies to hand out.

The relay began with riders having to retrieve one of their boots placed on the start straight. They then had to put their boots on, and run back to their bikes.

When it came down to it, each publication in attendance had two representatives in attendance, and a hat drawing helped determine the rest of each five-person team. Fortunately, with all of the pros on hand, the teams were fairly equal. What it really came down to was how fast teams could switch off their, umm…batons, which in this case were some good old fashioned boxer shorts. When all was said and done, the coveted FMF Manly Cup went to last years winners, Team Cycle World (hey, we had boxer malfunction, okay!). Take a look to see some of the action that went down.
