EBC 280MM OVERSIZED FRONT ROTOR
APPLICATION: Tested here on the 2010 Honda CRF450R
PRICE: $210
RATING: 8.5
KEY FEATURES:
-280mm in diameter to increase stopping power
-Made from strong stainless steel in order to withstand hits from rocks and roost
-Floating design just like the stock rotor
-Comes with a new caliper hanger
WHAT WE LIKED:
-The stopping power is increased substantially
-We haven’t had any close calls or problems with the rotor bending
-Stopping power is instantaneous
-Even though the power is instant, the feel at the lever isn’t too touchy
-Faster riders loved the increased stopping power, which allowed them to charge harder and further into corners
WHAT WE DIDN’T LIKE:
-Some testers felt that the stopping power was a little too strong
-The stock front disc guard doesn’t fit over the EBC rotor
WHAT WE REALLY THINK:
We still have the EBC rotor kit on our CRF450R and haven’t had any problems. For some riders, the stopping power might be a little too much and take some getting used to, however, if more power is what you’re looking for, the EBC oversized rotor kit is perfect. Moreover, faster intermediate and pro level riders will benefit from the increased stopping power.
