After talking the talk before the race about beating Dungey, Cairoli couldn’t make it happen in either MX1 moto. At the beginning of the first moto, Cairoli did all he could to keep pace with Dungey, but eventually dropped his pace slightly, allowing Dungey to eventually pull out to a comfortable lead.
