Monday Kickstart Presented by ONE Industries

The off-season is here. The 2010 Supercross season: in the books. Lucas Oil Motocross Championship: that train has sailed. Motocross of Nations from Colorado: check, and mate. U.S. Open of Supercross: gravestone reads… So, what’s next? You guessed it: the contract and title sponsor chaos, X-Fighters finale, TransWorld SLAM, and most immediately, the TransWorld Motocross Awards. Shameless plug? You know it! The SLAM is in less than two weeks, so if you are in Southern California, you better make it out to Milestone MX Park for open track riding, vendors, and the SLAM race featuring some of the fastest riders in the sport. Pro Circuit, Troy Lee Designs, and likely the factory teams will all be represented at this year’s SLAM, scheduled for October 16th.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the motocross community came together to support survivors of the disease, as well as raise awareness and support for those stricken with breast cancer. The Ride for the Cure is in its fourth year, raising money to provide much needed resources for women currently seeking treatment. This year’s event filled the parking lots of the newly improved Cahuilla Creek MX, with many riders showing their support by wearing bras over their gear on the track for the Bra Parade. An open track, as well as freestyle demos during most of the day, kept everyone entertained, culminating in a raffle of a generous amount of gear, collectibles and various prizes donated by sponsors and riders.
