Thanks to the recent rainfall in California, several riders have made the short four-hour drive to Las Vegas, where the precipitation was minimal, according to TransWorld Motocross’ Editor at Large, Steve Matthes. Geico Powersports/Honda’s Wil Hahn was the first rider to decide to pack is things and spend the week before Christmas in Sin City, where he plans to spin laps on the Hart and Huntington Supercross track. While he was in Vegas, Hahn decided to get some new ink at Hart and Huntington Tattoo.

“Chubbs was a good friend of mine, who actually did most of my other tattoos for me,” said Hahn, of his new artwork. “Sadly, he passed away this year on the day of the Hangtown MX National, and this is my own personal tribute to him. Rest in peace, Chubbs.”
In other news, we’ve heard that Gareth Swanepoel crashed hard recently and injured his thumb. Not sure about the extent of the injury, but we do know that it’s bad enough to sideline him for most of the Western Regional Supercross Lites Series, which he was set to contest for the DNA Shred Stix/Star Racing Yamaha team.

Swanepeol’s replacement on the DNA Shred Stix/Star Racing Yamaha team has yet to be officially announced, but we’re pretty excited about the decision here at TransWorld Motocross. Stay tuned for more information as it is made public. Get well, Swanie!
Kickstart 2: Past. Present. Future. made its debut on iTunes last week, and it can also be found in better motorcycle dealerships everywhere. We spotted a consumer buying two copies this weekend at Malcolm Smith Motorsports in Riverside, California; one for himself and one to give away as a gift. Nice!
TWMX Editor at Large Steve Matthes enjoyed a dry weekend at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, and on Sunday, he ventured over to the Hart and Huntington SX track to check in on the riders who were there getting some motos in. Take it away, Steve…
Thanks Swap and yes, it appears that the only place to ride SX without strapping on a life vest was up here in Las Vegas at the H & H track. Judging by the amount of calls I got from riders wanting me to get them on the track, everyone was drowned out.
I headed out to Boulder City (about 15 min outside of Vegas) to check out the guys hard at work. H&H team member Ivan Tedesco, Motoconcepts Yamaha’s Tommy Hahn, GEICO Honda’s Wil Hahn and Two-Two Motorsports’ Chad Reed were all out there. Tommy had a DNF on his machine and wasn’t riding when I got out there but the other three were deep into motos. I also found it funny that a few years ago Reed called Tedesco a “chump” over something and there is always this perceived notion that the two guys didn’t like each other. Yet, Reed brought IT’s bike out to the track from the H&H track and they were laughing and talking about the track. Just remember this the next time someone says something about another guy and they are pissed for a while. Things do indeed blow over.
Anyways, I’m no Swap or Lutes or Kinman or even that new guy so bear with me on the crappy pics taken with my Canon Rebel. I still don’t believe that Donn shot a cover with one of these…

Reed was out there pounding laps, H&H owner Carey Hart is represented by the same agency as Reed hence him being out there. He's going to race in Shift gear but it's so one-off that for now he doesn't have enough of it. That's the reason for the Fox stuff.

And in case you're wondering, yeah he's still fast.

Wibur has made the jump over to the GEICO team and he's definitely one of the favorites for the west 250 title.
