The hype is culminating around Angel Stadium, and today we got the chance to hear from the the top riders of the 450 class, see their bikes, and even watch them take a few hot laps for the attending media. Reigning champ Ryan Dungey was presented his ring, but not before Andrew Short, Kevin Windham, James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, and Chad Reed fielded questions from the media. Generally speaking, the riders responded with words of excitement and confidence, but there were a few candid quotes that kept the endemic media interested. The long-time veteran Kevin Windham probably had the most entertaining banter with the questioning media, answering with calm reserve. Quotes like, “I haven’t looked at a single track map yet. I guess it’s time to start studying” and “Thank god I don’t Twitter, or tweet, or whatever you call it” kept the chuckles coming. If you don’t follow our Twitter, you can review some of the classic quotes from the day at twitter.com/twmxdotcom.
After the formalities of the press conference concluded, a few guys took to the track to ride for the media. Check out some photos from the press conference and the hot laps that followed…
