250 MOTO 1
Kawasaki has taken every win in the 250 class this season so far, so the question remained: could another team catch a good start and hold on for a win before a Pro Circuit rider rode away with it?
When the gate dropped, Justin Barcia and Blake Baggett battled for the holeshot, but it was Ryan Sipes who came out of the first lap in first place.
Sipes held the lead for a few laps, but Baggett made a great pass after a small double and started pulling away. From there, Sipes faded faster than an Arsenio Hall haircut. Soon after, Sipes’ teammate Kyle Cunningham found himself chasing down Baggett in the second spot, but he had Pro Circuit’s Tyla Rattray breathing down his neck. Justin Barcia, Dean Wilson, and privateer Tommy Weeck jockeyed for the top five spots. When all was said and done, Baggett took the convincing win, his teammate in second.

250 MOTO 2
Dean Wilson grabbed the holeshot, but his teammate Tyla Rattray didn’t let him get far. Geico Honda’s Eli Tomac, meanwhile, got tangled up in the second turn and found himself in the dirt. Former Geico Honda replacement Lance Vincent garnered a great start, and settled into third place in the first few laps. His success was cut short, however, when he jammed his knee and had to throw in the towel. Wilson managed to hold off the advances of Rattray and take the moto win. Blake Baggett didn’t garner much of a start, and DNA/Shred Stix/Star’s Gareth Swanepoel managed to hold off Baggett for much of the moto, but Baggett’s training took over and he charged fast laps at the end to seal third place and the overall win.
