WHAT WE LIKE
-By far the best-fitting FMF system we’ve ever installed. Everything bolted up perfectly. No jiggling required.
-At 5.4 pounds, the system cuts over 3.5 pounds over stock.
-System is AMA legal with the 94 dB insert installed.
-Violent low-end hit is smoothed out into a broader, more manageable surge.
-Mid-range power feels beefier, but not violent.
-System allows the engine to rev out just as far as stock system.
-Even with quiet insert installed, powerband remains noticeably stronger and easier to manage than stock.
-Screen insert (spark arrestor) is included.
WHAT WE DIDN”T LIKE
-Megabomb header can burn rider’s pant knees or boots.
-Without 94 dB insert installed, system is just as loud as stock system (Kawasakis have the loudest OEM exhaust note) .
WHAT WE REALLY THINK
In stock condition, the 2012 Kawasaki KX450F has a hard-hitting powerband that is actually hard to make good use of. The Factory 4.1 RCT system broadens the powerband and gives the new green machine a more rider-friendly powerband. We love it!
