TransWorld Motocross and MAHFIA.com partnered to host a Shred 101 Moto Ladies Industry Ride Day Wednesday, November 16, at the Honda Rider Education Center in Colton, California. The event—which marks the fourth in the Ladies Learn to Ride series created by TransWorld and Mahfia.com—featured three ride sessions throughout the day, giving 25 women from the industry a chance to learn the basics behind riding from pro athletes such as Tania Satchwell and Mercedes Gonzales-Natvig, who were on hand.
Ladies from Oakley, Body Glove, Alpinestars, Rockstar, Saatchi & Saatchi, Street League Skateboarding, Dyrdek Foundation, Wasserman Media, TransWorld Media, MAHFIA.com, and Mountain High all came out to participate. Other professional women athletes on the scene included snowboarder Kim Kirch and skater Lisa Whitaker. Ladies were taken through the basics of being on a bike and given the chance to apply what they had learned on the trail course at the facility. The training sessions broke down key aspects of riding posture, safety techniques, starting, stopping, quick turns, swerving, turning techniques, and riding over obstacles.
Lunch was catered by Chipotle Mexican Grill and vitaminwater, and raffle giveaways were donated by Rockstar, Alpinestars, Fydelity Stereobags, Mountain High, TransWorld Motocross and MAHFIA.com.
