Travis Baker at the Ranch

Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda’s Travis Baker didn’t exactly have the year he wanted last season. Although he had the speed and equipment he agreed with, crashes and reluctant starts kept him from the finishes he felt he could accomplish. Baker finished 11th overall last year in the West Coast Lites Series, although he missed two rounds. Logging top tens in four of the six rounds he raced, Baker scored some decent points, but it definitely wasn’t the yield he felt he was capable of. But with a new year comes a new Supercross season, and a clean slate. He’s been putting in the hours this off-season and it’s definitely showing on the test track. While we were there, he easily put in five motos. One change in the Baker program for 2012 comes in the form of a mechanic change. Eric Gass, most recently of the DNA/Shred Stix/Star team, has made the switch to the TLD Honda squad, and was on hand to spin wrenches for T-Bake at the track. Keep an eye out for the TLD duo at Anaheim I.
