SAN DIEGO, CA (February 13, 2012) Maxima Oil riders, Ryan Villopoto and Dean Wilson, grab the top podium positions in both the Supercross and Lites classes this past weekend. RV will carry the Red Plate into Dallas where he goes after his fourth win of the year! Meanwhile, Wilson’s Red Plate will have sit idle while he waits for the series to return to the West coast. Look for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett and Darryn Durham in Dallas this coming weekend as they look to pick up where Dean Wilson left off.
On The Box – 450 Guys
1. Ryan Villopoto Kawasaki/Maxima
2. Chad Reed Honda
3. Ryan Dungey – KTM
Ryan Villopoto almost made it look easy for 17 laps, until lappers significantly slowed his pace and Reed turned up the heat and made a pass with only two laps to go. RV fired back immediately and was back in charge by the time the white flag waved. Ryan is the points leader and brings his 3 wins to Dallas next Saturday.
On The Box – Lites Guys
1. Dean Wilson Kawasaki/Maxima
2. Cole Seely – Honda
3. Matt Moss KTM
Dean Wilson found the pace he won the Nationals with and not only won the Lites main but claimed the series lead from Eli Tomac. Congratulations to the entire crew at Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki for fighting back and putting the Kawasaki 250s back into championship contention!
Honorable Mention: Billy Laninovich amongst a stacked field of factory riders bulldogged the gnarly whoop section to finish 7th on the night. Billy has continued to make significant progress each week since his return to racing. BL232 is a longtime Maxima believer and with his return as a privateer, Maxima Racing Oils was only too happy to jump on board!
