SUPERCROSS HEAT 1

Broc Tickle took control of the lead when the gate dropped for the first heat of the 450 class, but Supercross points leader Ryan Villopoto snatched the lead right away. Ryan Dungey went down hard in the first rhythm section of the track, but he quickly remounted and was in last place. After the first lap, Villopoto maintained his lead, while Tickle, Jake Weimer, Jeff Alessi, and Matt Goerke rounded off the top five. As the laps started to count down, Villopoto opened up his gap tremendously on his Monster Kawasaki teammate by over 10 seconds. Davi Millsaps was on the move as he fought through the pack, and he eventually worked his way up to fourth place. When the heat race came to a close, Villopoto took an easy win, while Weimer and Tickle took the top three spots. Dungey, who suffered from an early crash, made his way into ninth at the end of the moto, and took the final transfer spot.

SUPERCROSS HEAT 2

When the gates dropped for the second heat of the 450 class, James Stewart rocketed out front on his JGR Yamaha. As the pack entered the second corner, Stewart, Kevin Windham, Brett Metcalfe, Chad Reed, and Kyle Partridge filled the top five spots. Reed, who was the fastest qualifier, started to work on third place as he battled with Metcalfe. He quickly got around Metty, and then the TwoTwo Motorsports rider quickly started to put in some fast laps to catch up to Windham. The two riders eventually met with each other, and Reed took over the lead after the two riders went side by side off of the second triple on the track. Stewart had a couple second lead at that point, but Reed started to slowly close the gap. When the checkered flag came out, though, Stewart maintained his lead while Reed and Windham came in second and third, respectively.

SUPERCROSS LCQ

Bobby Kiniry jumped out front when the gates dropped for the 450 LCQ, with Weston Peick not too far behind. Kiniry rode a solid race to the finish, but Peick had some company from Gavin Faith. Faith tried to make the pass on the final turn of the LCQ, and it was a photo finish as the two riders jumped off of the finish line double. After it was all said and done, Peick took the final transfer spot.

SUPERCROSS MAIN EVENT

When the gates dropped for the 20-lap main, Jeff Alessi grabbed the Nuclear Cowboyz holeshot award, and led Ryan Villopoto, Chad Reed, Jake Weimer, and Mike Alessi into the first turn. As the riders exited the first rhythm section of the track, Villopoto has shot his way into first, followed closely by Reed. After the first lap, Villopoto, Reed, Weimer, M. Alessi, and Davi Millsaps rounded off the top five. Four laps in, Reed kept the gap on Villopoto to the minimum, and it looked like he was going to make the pass. When the riders jumped into the sand section, though, Reed’s front tired tucked before the landing and was sent cartwheeling down the track. Unable to get back on his bike, Reedy was escorted onto the Asterisk Medical Mule. The crash, unfortunately, opened up the gap for Villopoto, and he was now seconds ahead of Weimer.

At the halfway point, Villopoto had increased his lead by 10 seconds on Weimer, and Ryan Dungey, M. Alessi, and Kevin Windham sat inside the top five. As the laps started to count down, Dungey has closed the gap between himself and Weimer, and he started to put some pressure on the Kawi rider. The two riders battled back and forth for second a few times, but Dungey was able to make the move into second permanent. Villopoto took an easy win inside the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, and he has now further extended his points lead on Dungey. Dungey and Weimer took the rest of the spots on the podium, Mike Alessi scored a season best fourth place finish, and Josh Hansen made his way into fifth.
