SUPERCROSS HEAT 1

Yoshimura Suzuki’s Brett Metcalfe launched off the line in the first Supercross class heat race of the night, while James Stewart, Ryan Dungey, Cole Seely, and Kyle Chisholm followed suit. Metcalfe held the lead for the first lap and a half, but Stewart was able to make the pass on the Suzuki rider. Once up front, Stewart slowly started to pull away from the pack while second through fourth kept close to one another. Seely made the pass on Dungey during the first few corners of the race, and he quickly started moving his way toward second place, which was Metcalfe. As Seely tried to search for a line to pass Metcalfe, Dungey hoped in on Seely a few times, but the Muscle Milk Honda fill-in rider was able to make his way into second. Almost simultaneously, Dungey made the pass on Metcalfe, too. Metcalfe tried to make the pass back on Dungey, but he was unable to get it done. When the checkered flag came out, Stewart took the win followed by Seely, Dungey, Metcalfe, and Tickle.

SUPERCROSS HEAT 2

Ben Lamay took a hard hit in the second Supercross class heat race of the night, and as a result, the race was red flagged. On the restart, Davi Millsaps jumped out front with Ryan Villopoto and Justin Brayton in tow. Millsaps was off to a great start as he navigated the first lap with a significant lead, but Villopoto quickly started to shorten the distance. After a couple of laps, Villopoto jumped on the rear wheel of Millsaps and made the pass. As soon as he made the pass, RV started to check out. Brayton was the next rider to apply pressure on Millsaps, and he made the pass about halfway through the race. Jake Weimer was able to hop into third place when Millsaps made a slight bobble in front of him. Windham started off in fourth but fell back to sixth, but at the end of the eight laps, he made his way around Mike Alessi and jumped into the top five.

SUPERCROSS LCQ

When the gates dropped for the start of the 450 LCQ, Gavin Faith jumped out front, but was quickly passed by Nick Wey in the first turn. Once Wey made the pass on Faith, he kept clicking away on his laps and built up a five second lead by the finish. Once the six laps finished, Wey and Faith took the transfer spots into the main.

SUPERCROSS MAIN EVENT

At the start of the 450 main, Davi Millsaps grabbed the Nuclear Cowboyz Holeshot Award and headed into the first corner with Ryan Villopoto, Justin Brayton, Kevin Windham, Ryan Dungey, and Cole Seely right behind him. Millsaps held off Villopoto for a couple of laps, but after that RV was all over him. The two riders battled back and forth, but it was Villopoto who would take the lead in the end. Right behind them, Dungey had been working on Windham for fourth, and he made the pass stick in the first five laps.

Eight laps in, Brayton had caught up to Millsaps, and the two riders went back and forth before the Muscle Milk Honda rider finally sealed the deal. From there, Millsaps lost another position to Dungey. Not too far behind those riders were Windam and Seely, and also a fast charging James Stewart, who had went down on the first lap and was in 18th.

As Stewart caught up to Seely, the Honda fill-in rider nearly launched off the side of the over-under bridge. Seely was okay as he got back on his feet, but he did not finish the race. With a few laps to go, Dungey had worked his way into second place, which put Brayton back to third, and Stewart had passed his teammate, which put him into fifth. Villopoto took his fifth win of the season inside the Edward Jones Dome, while Dungey and Brayton capped off the podium.
