High Point MX 2012: Practice Report

Timed qualifying has come to an end here at High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, PA. The track, which is carved in the valley of two hills, was considered one-lined by the racers during qualifying, but that did not stop James Stewart and Marvin Musquin from setting the pace in their respective classes. The horn for first just went off, so racing will begin soon. Check back later for a full race report.

Marvin Musquin was the only Lites rider to break the 2:10 barrier with a 2:08.757. Musquin was not only the fastest of his class, but of the entire morning, as the bested James Stewart’s 450 time. Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac rounded out the top three. Blake Baggett was able to earn fifth overall, despite having a mechanical issue that clipped his second session short.

Though his status was questionable all week, James Stewart is racing High Point and notched the fastest lap of the 450 class. He and Mike Alessi bested third fastest Jake Weimer’s time by over one second.
