The Lucas Oil Outdoor Motocross Championship made the annual trip to High Point Raceway for round four of the 12 stop tour. With the season now a third of the way complete, the series will head to Budds Creek and then take a two week break before resuming at Red Bud.

Over 20,000 fans lined the hillside to see the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship take to High Point Raceway. The weather for this year's event was clear and warm, and lacked the humidity that smoothers the East Coast in the summer.

The track runs on two hills and the valley between them, which gives racers an added challenge on the small, but steep climbs and descents.

After the incident in Colorado, when a photographer crossed the track early in the first moto, MX Sports called a mandatory safety meeting that all media was to attend. The rules are now more strict and forbid walking across the track, but with the number of photographers at each event, it's an expected measure.

Blake Baggett has held the 250 championship point lead since round one at Hangtown, and will continue to do so after High Point.

Ryan Dungey has grabbed the lead in the 450 championship standings and debuted the red backgrounds on his KTM at High Point.

The Team Honda Muscle Milk bikes of Ashley Fiolek and Tommy Hahn sat idle after the two riders suffered injuries at Thunder Valley. Hahn will sit out an expected five weeks while his right index finger heals, and Fiolek is slated to come back at Red Bud after a severe concussion that forced her to stay overnight at a Denver hospital.
