After last season’s sweep of both American 450 titles, the Motocross of Nations, and the Monster Energy Cup, as well as this year’s repeat Supercross championship, Volcom and Vans decided that there was no better time than the present to highlight their star racer, Ryan Villopoto. 2 Be Continued, a project that was over a year in the making, is a rare look inside one of the sport’s most acclaimed racers. A collaboration of Villopoto’s sponsors worked together to bring the industry to Oakley’s Foothill Ranch headquarters to watch the video, which will be released to the public later this evening.
The Troy Eckert directed and Troy Powell produced film begins with Villopoto’s domination of the 250 class, namely the 2007 Motocross of Nations at Budds Creek, then delves into his career as an amateur racer before coming back to the present and his growth in the 450 ranks. Stories from family, friends, and those close to Villopoto accompany never before seen photos and video footage, making 2 Be Continued a stark contrast to the typical motocross video that focuses more on riding footage.
