WHAT IT IS:
The Core line of gear is Thor’s high-end top-of-the-line gear set. The jersey features a new collar construction with large knit panels, a 100-percent polyester construction, mesh all throughout for increased ventilation, a longer rear tail section to keep it tucked into the pants, and sublimated no-fade graphics. The pants are equally as well constructed and feature a pre-curved 900D poly oxford chassis, durable TPR logos, accordion stretch Spandura knee panels, debossed full grain cowhide leather on the inner knees for added protection, and a ratchet style waist with lock-down closure. All told, the pant and jersey are designed to withstand the constant and intense abuse of motocross.

HITS:
-Well constructed and durable.
-Ratchet waist closure holds the pants closed and in place.
-Jersey remains tucked in.
-Leather on the knees is just enough to protect from the exhaust system without being over done.
-Mesh on jersey increases ventilation.
-Lower pant cuffs aren’t bulky and don’t bunch up in boots.
-Sizing is spot on.
-Overall the pant and jersey are lightweight but protective.

MISSES:
-While vented, the jersey doesn’t breathe as well as other jerseys we’ve tried.
-Lower portion of pant is very tight around knee braces.
-Pant waist is cut a little on the high side for some of our testers.

THE VERDICT:
Thor has always been one of the leaders in the motocross gear market, and this year looks to be much of the same. The new Core gear maintains the high quality and protection that Thor has become known for. And while not many technical changes have been done to the pant or jersey, it still remains at the top of our list for riding gear.
