450 Moto One:
The start of the first 450 moto saw MotoConcepts’ Mike Alessi jump out in front to take the holeshot, with Eleven10 Mods/Honda’s Phil Nicolletti, Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey, local hero Robbie Marshall, and Muscle Milk Honda’s Tommy Hahn following close behind. After only one lap, though, Dungey had worked his way into second and began to pressure Alessi for the lead. On lap five, Dungey worked his way around Alessi and quickly opened up a commanding lead. Behind the top two, Hahn had quietly moved into third ahead of Nicoletti and Marshall. As the laps ticked by, Dungey continued to extend his lead with Alessi in second and Hahn third. Nicoletti, however, dropped back allowing Chaparral Honda’s Andrew Short to move into fifth. From there, the running order remained the same, as Dungey took the win ahead of Alessi, Hahn, Marshall, and Short.

450 Moto Two:
The second moto was much of the same, with Alessi taking the holeshot. This time, though, Dungey moved into the lead before the first lap was completed. On lap six, things began to get interesting, as Dungey got cross-rutted in a high-speed drop off section and went down, causing his gas cap to come loose and his bike to lose gas. Dungey was able to re-take the lead, but he needed a splash of gas if he was going to finish the moto. On the 13th lap, he entered the pits, got some gas, and rejoined the race in second. From there, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Tyla Rattray took over the lead after having passed Alessi for second shortly before Dungey’s pit stop. Unfortunately for Dungey, though, he couldn’t get past Rattray, and when the checkered flag flew, Rattray took his first-ever 450 class moto victory. Dungey finished second with Alessi third and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Broc Tickle fourth.
