Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series Profile: Dylan Anderson
Dylan Anderson, 18 Oak Hills, CA Sponsors: VMC, Scott, ONeal, Hinson, Varner Motorsports, Gram Brough Suspension, Dylan Anderson is a regular at the Transworld Races and has gained momentum through the year since the opening round. Seeing the familiar #195 Suzuki blowing up berms has become a regular thing at most every round. We caught up with Dylan at Cahuilla Creek to see what motivates him. How long have you been riding? I’ve been riding since I was 3. Then I started racing and just kept going and going and now here I am. What age did you start racing? Right away, I started to race at 4. I took a 2 year break when we were moving around from house to house, and I wasn’t real big into riding when I was on the 150. Why do you race? It’s fun! Especially when you put in the work and the outcome starts to get better and you get confident. Like today, I am doing three classes and I’m not even tired. I’m on my 5th race and waiting for my 6th. I like to progress just to ride. Throw some whips and one handers. What do you do for training? I mountain bike, and when the heat wave came in I started to pick up swimming and breathing through the snorkel. It is easy on the joints and cooled me down. Mountain biking and a little bit of weights other than that. What do you do besides motocross? I don’t really have any other hobbies outside of moto. We do mountain bike a lot, but that’s about it. Since that is your only real hobby, how often do you get to ride? I probably ride about 4 days a week and racing on weekends. I just go out, do my motos and go home. What’s your favorite track? Comp Edge of course, that track is awesome! I do like Cahuilla Creek too, but it is so far away. It is like 2 hours from where we live. What do you like about the Transworld Racing Series? It gets a good outcome, it has more intermediates than usual and the level of skill has risen so much. At the same time it is challenging, but if you put in the work then you’re hanging with the big guys. Like today, Travis Bell is out here, Kyle Swanson and some other pros. It’s pretty awesome.
