250 Moto One
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett was the first to the corner in the first 250 moto of the day, but was then swallowed up by the pack and dropped far down the running order. With that, GEICO Powersports Honda racer Justin Barcia would inherit the position and began to pull away with Ken Roczen and teammate Eli Tomac in second and third, respectively. Tomac made his way around the Red Bull KTM of Roczen and then set off after Barcia, closing in on his championship rival with only laps to go. With three laps to go, Tomac and Barcia battled intensely for the win, running side-by-side down one straightaway and nearly touching as Tomac took over the lead. Once in control, Tomac would quickly distance himself from Barcia and take the moto win.

Rookie Jeremy Martin snagged the second moto holeshot aboard his Star/Valli/Rockstar/Yamaha, but had fast company in the two teammates of Tomac and Barcia. With a much-improved start compared to his first moto, Tomac wasted no time taking the lead and muscled his Honda 250 to take a dominating win in the second moto. He would be unchallenged for the duration of the entire race, as distance, as well as Ken Roczen separated he and Barcia. Baggett meanwhile was on a mission to remedy his poor start and first lap rank, charging the entire race to take fourth place and keep his championship hopes alive. With his 4-4 scores and Tomac’s sweep for the overall win, the margin between the two is now only 14 markers.
