Monday Kickstart – Lake Elsinore MX 2012

For Blake, the 250 National Championship was his first-even professional title. Throughout the course of the series, the Kawasaki rider never relinquished the red number plate.

Asterisk’s Doc Bodnar did the 30-second board honors for the women. For the second moto, he even did a little wiggle for them. Awesome.

After the first WMX moto, only one point separated Honda’s Ashley Fiolek and Rockstar Suzuki’s Jessica Patterson, meaning whoever finished in front in the second moto would win the title. As it turned out, Fiolek finished second in the moto while Patterson—still struggling with injuries—failed to finish the moto.

For Fiolek, the title this year was her second consecutive. At the beginning of the year, there were questions about if this was her last season, however, we still have yet to find out any truth to those rumors.

Eli Tomac's championship hopes collapsed in the final turn of the first lap, when he made a mistake and slammed face first into the ground. Tomac appeared to know his day was seemingly finished, as he was slow to remount his bike and continue, but sprang back to life. His climb to 14th was nothing short of inspiring.

Followers of Jeremy Stenberg and Robbie Maddison know about the ongoing prank war raging on the MDPblock, but the two took it to new levels on Saturday. Twitch posted Maddo's number on Instagram to his 67,000 followers, but we think Robbie's flyover of Lake Elsinore with this banner was the better of the two. Don't bother calling, both numbers are disconnected.
