Practice Report – 2012 Monster Energy MXoN

The first and only practice sessions have concluded for the day in Lommel, Belgium, at this year’s Monster Energy Motocross of Nations. As expected, the popular sand riders of the World Championships have topped the charts in their respective classes, with Italy’s Antonio Cairoli posting the fastest time of the day in the MX1 class, and the Netherlands’ Jeffrey Herlings turning in the quickest time in the MX3 class. As for MX2, Puerto Rico’s Zach Osborne was the quickest ahead of a contingent of fast riders. Team USA, meanwhile held their own, as Ryan Dungey was third in the MX1 class, Blake Baggett was fifth in the MX2 class, and Justin Barcia was fourth in MX3. With that being said, non of these times matter, as the real qualifying for tomorrow’s main events takes place later today when all three classes race one 20-minute moto with the best overall team score going towards the top qualifying position. Check back later for coverage from qualifying.
