Round four of the Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series Winter Cup was hosted at California’s oldest motocross track, Perris Raceway. Perris Raceway is one of the more widely known motocross tracks in Southern California, and for good reason. It has always been a well-rounded track consisting of every major obstacle that should be included in a true motocross style track. Ruts, big jumps and the overall fast pace is what Perris is known for and is the reason the track is so popular. Add a couple hundred racers to the mix and you have everything needed for a great weekend of racing.
This weekend’s vendors were stocked up with goods. Kyle Lewis and the Kal-Gard rig were supplying riders with all of the necessary lubricants required for a day of racing, and EKS Brand Goggles had their stylish eye-wear available to the weekend’s racers. Etnies brought a selection of their latest line to display and gave away a pair of the all-new Marana shoe to one online entrant. Leatt-Brace has quickly evolved from a neck brace brand and into a full body protection company, and they were displaying and selling all of their neck and body protection products. Yamaha has been a staple at the Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series since its inception and this weekend brought out one of their new generators and shiny new PW50 was out on display.
The Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series attracts some of SoCal’s fastest racers, and this weekend was no different. Luke Purther was the obvious favorite to win aboard his 85 and in each of the short five lap motos, Purther would build a commanding lead over the rest of his competitors. The Intermediate class is always exciting to watch, and this weekend Cole Barbieri, Rookie White and Alex Frye were the fastest of the group. The trio swapped positions numerous times in hopes of walking away with the overall, with Rookie White taking the win. Jean Ramos and Luke Reardon were the the leaders of the Pro division, and the two battled throughout the day for supremacy. When the final flag flew, it was Jean Ramos with the overall win.
It was another awesome weekend of racing and we hope to see you at the double-header finale, which will be held at Competitive Edge on March 2nd for round five and March 3rd for round six. For more of round four’s action, check out the photos below.
