Marvin And James Top The Charts In The ATL

Practice has concluded here at a sold-out Georgia Dome, where 70,000 fans have filed into the stadium to catch round eight of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross Series. From the moments the gates opened, fans have filed in and absorbed every ounce of moto one could possibly find. The floor of the dome has been filled with trademark red southern clay, but the feelings on the track itself is mixed. Some love the soil, others say it is deceivingly slick. The layout itself is nothing too wild, but is slower than what we saw last week in Dallas.

James Stewart and Marvin Musquin have this place dialed, as the two riders posted the fastest laps in their respective classes. Musquin beat out last weekend’s podium finishers Dean Wilson and Wil Hahn by just mere hundredths of a second with a 52.698 lap.

James Stewart once again bested the field in the 450 class, and was the only rider close to breaking into the 51 second zone. 450 newcomer Eli Tomac has wasted no time making his mark, as he was just under one hundredth of a second behind Stewart, and ahead of Trey Canard by .031.

Tonight’s racing action is about to kick-off, and is live on SPEED.
