The Internet is ablaze with discussions regarding the AMA’s ruling on Saturday night’s 450 main event, where Ryan Villopoto took the win over James Stewart after a controversial pass in an area of the track were warning flags were in full view.
Here is the breakdown: Stewart led the pack as the entered the section were Bobby Kiniry was down and slowed in response to the numerous yellow flags waving. Villopoto slowed as well, but still pulled in closer to Stewart and once they left the area in question, hit the throttle on his Kawasaki and overtook the lead. The AMA stated that because the pass did not occur under red cross flags flags, there was no harm done.
