SPY Continues Arenacross Domination With Bowers And Babbitt’s Kawasaki Team

CARLSBAD, Calif. (March 20, 2013) — SPY® is happy to announce its Babbitt’s Monster Energy/ASMOIL Kawasaki team handily clinched their fourth consecutive AMSOIL Arenacross Championship over the weekend in Denver, CO, while Tyler Bowers won his third Arenacross title.

“Tyler’s been at the top of his game for over three years now and doesn’t look to be slowing down at all,” says Kyle Krause, SPY MX team manager. “We couldn’t be happier with Tyler and the Babbitt’s team and look forward to many more great races with them.”

Returning to Denver for the first time since the 2011 season, the AMSOIL Arenacross point standings saw just a 44-point differential between Bowers and the 10th spot going into the final race. With 64 points up for grabs between the two mains, Bowers fought through several pileups in the first main to finish 2nd behind Jeff Gibson, his closest competition in the points battle. The final main saw the full 15-rider inversion selected, leaving Tyler starting from the 15th slot. Bowers fought tooth and nail from the back of the pack to move into the 3rd spot, narrowly edging out Gibson by three points in the final standings.
“I couldn’t have done it without the support of SPY and the Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy/ASMOIL Kawasaki crew,” says Tyler Bowers. “There was a lot of crashing going on in the main but I made it through. I knew I had to stay off the ground so I made it happen.”

Tyler Bowers will be cruising off-track in SPY’s new Happy Lens™ sunglasses, available at www.spyoptic.com/happy.
