Stewart And Tomac Set The Pace At Budds Creek 2013

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship has resumed after a one-week hiatus at Maryland’s gorgeous Budds Creek. Jonathan Beasley’s track is a mainstay on the circuit and has been the site to a number of historic events, including Ryan Villopoto’s MXoN riding clinic in 2005 and Doug Henry’s gruesome leap to the flats. Timed qualifying has just concluded for the 250 and 450 classes, and a quick scan of the results sheet will show that today’s racing is much like any other. All four motos will be broadcast live on FUEL and NBC Sports, so check your local listings.

250 Class

Eli Tomac notched the fastest lap of the 250 class in the second qualifying session aboard his GEICO Honda, besting rival Blake Baggett by just .011 seconds. Red Bull KTM teammates Marvin Musquin and Ken Roczen were close in pace, with Musquin running third quickest. He would be the last rider in the 250 class to time below the two-minute mark. Rockstar Energy Racing’s Jason Anderson capped off the top-five, with a 2:00.812 lap.

After much anticipation, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s rookie Adam Cianciarulo will make his postponed debut. AC292 timed 12th quickest. Also hitting the track for the first time this weekend is GECIO Honda’s Wil Hahn, who has been absent for the racing scene since breaking his hand at the Las Vegas SX finale.
