Minnesota loves motocross. Every year, thousands of fans lines the hills of Spring Creek Motocross and cheer on the fastest riders of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. While there are many favorites, three racers in particular garner the most support: Ryan Dungey and Martin brother Alex and Jeremy. Dungey has seen plenty of success at the soft, sandy circuit, which is just a short drive from his hometown of Belle Plaine, and has five overall victories and moto wins in every year of his pro career. But no one has more of a home track advantage than the Martin brothers; their parents, John and Gretta, own the land and the boys literally grew up on in a home that is feet from the track. This year’s National was one for the ages, as all four motos of the day were some of the best action we have witnessed, and the championships in both classes became even more tense.
