First Impression: 2014 Honda CRF250R

After plenty of anticipation, the first units of the 2014 Honda CRF250R have landed on American shores and into our hands. Nearly everything important about the small-bore bike is new, and we couldn’t wait to put the changes to good use. The base of the chassis is new aluminum frame, designed with a lower center of gravity in mind, and is outfitted with a new swingarm, shock linkage, and suspension components. The engine also received a number of upgrades, including a new piston, cylinder, fuel injection timing, and oh yeah, that rad dual exhaust system.

Honda invited us to San Diego County’s Chaney Ranch for a day in the saddle, and we’ve gained a solid first impression on the new bike…
