Our cross-country travels to follow the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross series begin this weekend. Well, sort of. Angels Stadium is a stone’s throw away for us, but trips to the faraway locales of Toronto and Daytona require some planning. Luckily, we have a full travel department to book anything needed and the repetition has allowed us to memorize the schedule. You on the other hand do not, and that is where we come in.
In an effort to make your day/night at Supercross less tasking, we have complied a comprehensive guide. Everything you need is here, including locations, dates, accommodations, and transportation. Need a place to eat? We have the city’s Urbanspoon page hot linked. Same goes for Yelp. Find a hotel from the TripAdvisor list or download the Hotel Tonight app and score a last minute deal.
We recommend you get to the stadium early and check out the sprawl that is the Pit Party. Getting in is typically free, as long as you bring an empty Monster Energy Drink can to recycle. Of course you will have one; you are going to Supercross. Some rounds do require an additional pass. Quick tip, though: the top riders in the sport only sign autographs at certain predetermined times and a special ticket is needed. Getting the ticket is free, but they are of limited quantity. You must stop by the team’s rig early in the day and line up.
Want to connect through social media on race day? Follow our exploits with Twitter (@twmxdotcom), Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/TransWorldMoto), and Instagram (@twmxdotcom). Live timing is available through the AMA’s At the Wire site, http://live.amasupercross.com/, and even mobile devices with the AMA Supercross app (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ama-sx/id585359101?mt=8). Stay connected and see things your general admission ticket could never access.
Okay, so there you have it. Everything you need is here, so study up and get ready for what should be the greatest race season of the sport’s history. See you at the races…
