Chase Felong has been wringing out his YZ125 at the races putting in some great finishes in the new 125 2 Stroke class, as well as racing the Schoolboy class and battling with a class with a full gate of mostly 250F bikes.  Felong has been a regular with the Muscle Milk/Transworld races, racing on an 85cc bike last year and transitioning to the bigger bike full time.  The 125cc class has had some great battles, and more often than not, Felong is a part of the battle and currently holds the points lead in the class.
How did you get started racing motocross?
My dad used to ride locally just for fun, and I also saw the racing on TV, and that made me want to do it.
What is it about motocross that you like over other sports?
It is just a fun environment, you get to race and it is competitive.  It’s fun, you can scrub the jumps and stuff.
How long have you been racing?
I’ve been racing since I was 4 years old.
In the 10 years you’ve been racing, what is your biggest accomplishment so far?
I would say when I got 6th in Mammoth.
It’s the start of a new year, what are your racing plans for the upcoming season?
We are going to race the James Stewart Spring Championship at Freestone, TX.  Then we will do the California Classic, Mammoth, Loretta’s and occasionally drop in and race with Transworld.
How often do you ride and train to prepare for racing?
I ride three times a week unless I have a day or week off.  I try to go as much as I can because I go to public school.  I also go to the gym three or four times a week.  I also ride a stationary bike or run.
Who is your trainer?
Casey Johnson is my trainer.  It’s been going really well with him, a lot of improvement and I have been getting faster since I started to train with him.
What else do you do besides motocross?
Nothing, really.  Sometimes do some BMX jumps by the house or something, but nothing that I am really into like motocross.
What is your ultimate goal in motocross?
Like every kid, I want to be the next Ryan Villopoto, James Stewart or Chad Reed.
