The Monster Energy Supercross Series made its third and final stop at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California, and for many, the last night in Orange County ends with a sigh of relief. Racing on the same hard soil in the same city three times in five weeks gets a bit repetitive for the racers, and the move to a new locale breathes new life into the series. Those that struggle to find traction in California could shine when the tour moves to the East Coast, where rich clay offers abundant grip and ruts, and then the field opens up once again.
Still, how can any of us based in SoCal complain about having four races within a few hour drive of our front door? And the racing that we’ve witnessed? We hate to preach the obvious, but both classes are stocked with some of the fastest riders the sport has ever seen. If you have the chance to get to a round, any round, of this year’s Supercross series, do not pass it up.
