In the Vet Intermediate Open class, Miller has been unstoppable with a sweep of the top step of the podium in every moto of the class in the series so far. What brings you out to the Transworld Race Series today? Truthfully, they hit all the greatest tracks in Southern California and there is always a friendly atmosphere. Everyone can shake hands at the end of the day and there is no dirty racing or hard feelings. It’s just a good, clean family environment. As a vet rider, your answer may be different than the younger kids, but what is your goal in motocross? Well, to have fun and not be hurt! I want to go home walking. What attracts you to motocross racing? Why do you do it? My dad was a pro racer in the 70′s, he still comes to these events too, my sister was a professional racer, and she also comes out here sometimes, so it is something I’ve done since I was a little kid and I’ve been doing it for over 20 years. It what I absolutely love to do and don’t think I would want to do anything else. Is racing your escape from your everyday life? Absolutely! We all have to go to work on Monday, but this is my home away from home. How did you originally get started racing and riding? My dad was a racer, and then when I started racing, he started racing again also. Even my sister had so much fun going to the races she decided to join and race also. What is your biggest or favorite accomplishment in racing? I would have to say all of the friends that I have made through racing. I can’t really say I’ve won national championships or anything like that, but the friends that I have made are almost like family and everyone is very close. What other activities do you do? I ride standup jet skis in the ocean, I like trampoline parks, going cliff jumping, snowboarding, almost anything extreme. I’m a little different, I’m a 30 year old guy but I still like to live like I am 21. Most guys my age are married and have kids. What do your friends say about your racing, do they think you’re too old to do it? Most all of my friends are racers or ex-racers, so they understand really. What do you do Monday through Friday when you can’t be racing? I help my dad run our family business. We process and recycle non-hazardous industrial waste water. What kind of training do you do to keep in racing shape? I like to distance run, I’ve done a couple tough mudders and mud runs and things like that. That’s pretty much about it. I just enjoy jogging, that’s my other escape. I can’t get out and ride after work so I put on my headphones and I go for a jog.
