James Stewart’s 49th Career Main Event Win | GoPro Hero 3+

When James Stewart took the win in Detroit, the Yoshimura Suzuki rider moved to second place on the all-time win list, tying Ricky Carmichael for forty-eight victories. The two riders will forever be considered among the greatest to swing a leg over a motorcycle and who has a higher rank will be debated for years to come, but there is no denying what Stewart accomplished in the twenty lap Toronto main event. After a start that buried him in the pack, Stewart picked off the competition with incredible line choice and rhythm choices and was in the front of the field by the halfway point of the race. Another series of passes put him even with leader Justin Barcia, who Stewart bested with a clean pass through a right-hand turn. The resulting victory put Stewart’s tally to forty-nine, making him the sole rider in second place on the all-time wins list. To celebrate the feat, GoPro has released footage from the Toronto race, which is worth watching over and over again…
