High Desert Sailing – Competitive Edge Testing

Vicious Santa Ana winds rocked the Inland Empire and all of its motocross tracks today, and although the high desert suffered from its typical Spring breeze, Competitive Edge MX Park was arguably the calmest track in SoCal. The rough, fast layout of Comp Edge always draws a speedy crowd, and today was especially fast, with the Lucas Oil MX Championship Series opener only a week and a half away.

Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin was a site for sore eyes, as he’s been sidelined all year with a knee injury. After spending a couple months at home in France, where he rehabbed his knee up to six hours per day, Marvin is happy to be back in the saddle and is anxiously awaiting the Glen Helen series kickoff.

Mike Alessi will compete in the AMA series opener at Glen Helen next weekend, but after that, he and his Smart Top teammate Vince Friese will head north of the border to contest the CMA Canadian Nationals. James Stewart, meanwhile, reports that his knee that he injured in New Jersey is feeling much better and he is anxious to get to racing this summer.

 

Muscle Milk Honda’s Justin Barcia and Trey Canard were on hand to finalize some settings before the big race at Glen Helen. Barcia’s bike was equipped with some data acquisition sensors.

 

The entire Lucas Oil/Troy Lee Designs/Honda team was on hand to test suspension settings.

We spotted Cole Seely chatting up his new (2015) team manager, Sam Mishima, a few times. Seely is reportedly joining the Muscle Milk Honda squad next year.

Tyler Bereman was hanging out with his buddy Ryder DiFrancesco today. Having just made the switch to 65s earlier this year, Ryder was a tad intimidated by the fast crowd on the main track, but Bereman rode several motos beside him.
