Justin Bogle | Take Five

Justin Bogle

GEICO Honda’s Justin Bogle has been having one of his best seasons ever, winning the 250 East Coast Championship and running up front during much of the outdoor series. But what does he like away from the track and his dirt bike? In this week’s edition of Take Five, we find out by asking him five questions that yield five answers—scratch that, usually yield five answers.

FIVE FAVORITE PLACES TO VISIT

1. My home back in Oaklahoma
“I don’t get to spend much time there.”
2. Canada
“It was the site of my first Supercross win.”
3. South Dakota
“I’ve been to Mount Rushmore when I was a kid.”

“I honestly haven’t been to that many places and don’t really have a favorite place besides those three. I’m hoping to get a couple over-seas races in this year. We’ll see about that. I’m trying to go stunt in Italy or something—hang out with some Italians and eat some pizza.”

Funny movies are what Bogle prefers for entertainment, “I hate sad movies, because I don’t want to feel sad. And I hate scary movies, because I don’t want to get scared,” he says.

FIVE FAVORITE MOVIES

1. Happy Gilmore
2. Tommy Boy
3. Step Brothers
4. The Other Guys
5. Old School
“Will Ferrel is the best of all time. I hate sad movies, because I don’t want to feel sad. And I hate scary movies, because I don’t want to get scared. I live kind of in the country back home, surrounded by trees. I don’t want to be scared to take my trash to the road on Thursday nights just because it’s dark, there are trees, and it’s scary, and I’m going to get mauled by a cougar and then killed by a killer. I don’t want that.”

FIVE FAVORITE FOODS

1. Pizza
“For sure that one is numero uno.”
2. Doritos Locos tacos from Taco Bell
“I like fine dining if you can’t tell. I’m not allowed to eat any of this, which is why I think it’s awesome.”
3. Grilled chicken with veggies and rice
“I eat it every day, but I’m still a sucker for it.”
4. Any kind of pasta
5. Pizza

“I’ll tell you what is not my favorite food—kale salad. Eating a kale salad is about like eating a tree.”

Justin Bogle

Incase you didn’t already know, Bogle is into music and currently has his own album out. But he also likes to spend his money on music, “I’ll go buy a bunch of CDs at one time, because I’m still a nerd and I like to go buy CDs.”

FIVE FAVORITE SPORTS BESIDES MOTO

1. Balling
“It’s not a hobby, it’s an occupation.”
2. Skateboarding
“Skateboarding is my favorite sport besides dirt bike riding.”
3. Basketball and the OKC Thunder

“I’m not really a big sports guy. I don’t get into football, and I’m not into baseball at all; watching it is the opposite of fun. I’ll catch a basketball game, though, just because of OKC Thunder. Other than that, there really is nothing else besides rollerblading.”

Justin Bogle

“Ballin’… It’s not a hobby; it’s a lifestyle.”

FIVE FAVORITE WAYS TO SPEND EXTRA MONEY

1. Clothes
2. Music stuff
“I’ll go buy a bunch of CDs at one time, because I’m still a nerd and I like to go buy CDs.”
3. Definitely not new vehicles
“I’m still whipping the ’03 van with 205,000 miles on it—killing it.”
4. Random stuff
“If I want to buy something random, I’ll buy it. But I don’t make any big purchases at all.”
5. Stuff for my house
“I just bought appliances for my house.”
