We made our few days in Tooele, Utah, for the final round of the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship count. After catching a late-night flight into town Wednesday, we ventured to Miller Motorsports Park first thing on Thursday morning to talk with riders and teams as they took part in the press day riding sessions. Those hours at the track resulted in plenty of interviews, which can be read in the “Talk From The Track” post that was published on Friday afternoon. An eye was constantly kept on the weather in the hours leading up to the race, as a heavy storm front moved through the area and soaked the motocross track with hours of rain. Teams scrambled on Saturday morning to swap setups for what could have been horrible conditions, but the constant sunshine and warm temperatures helped bring the track close to perfection.
So what does two days at the races result in? A ton of content. Our biggest feature from the race is always Monday Kickstart, and the final race of the regular season had so much news that we felt the need to split it into two separate posts. In this first installment, you’ll find photos and news from early Saturday morning, practice, and the 450 motos of the day. Later on, we will post another equally hefty batch of photos and news that chronicles the 250 class, post-race celebrations, and Thursday’s press riding and Motocross of Nations Team USA reveal.
