lawrence is my favorite rider because of his personality, but i would be REALLY suprised if he won the championship this year. he has too much really good competition (dungey and canard). good luck j-law! I hope you win, but i don’t really think you can keep up with those two riders.

I wont knock on Jason’s talent, he is a great rider. But they way he conducts himself during podium interviews and off the track overshadow his accomplishments. People wont remeber Jason for his supercross title or his race wins. They will remember him for being booted from the nationals this year, and i think that is sad. For the sake of the sport and himself, I hope the little vacation the AMA made him take has opened his eyes and he has grown up. I like to watch the kid ride, but I hate it every time he does something stupid to get fined or suspended. He is lucky he even had a team to ride for this season, defending champ or not. Hopefully he has changed, or else he will just become another athlete who had all the talent, but the wrong attitude. Good luck Jason, because if you have not changed, you are going to need it.

The song is Face to Face - Velocity and God i hope this kid holds it together and shuts a lot of people up. He’s just and average young guy that happens to be put in above average situation with huge amounts of pressure. How many of us are that “perfect angel” dungey persona? People make mistakes, some more than others but the kid has skills and is going to be a threat to repeat his ‘08 success. Good luck J-law… shut some people up….

Like I clearly said before, Im not “hating” on the kid. Im just stating my opinion. Call me a pussy, call me whatever you want. The fact still stands that J-LAW had been a complete idiot during his career up untill this point. I say “untill this point” because we have not seen him in action for a while. The race tomorrow night is not going to determine anything about Jason. What he does in the pits before and after the race is going to tell the tale if he has changed his attitude, because Im sure he will do well in the race. Winning is not everything in this sport. The fact is “Anonymous”, that you are lucky you even get to talk about his racing this season at all.

I agree with you 100%. I dont hate Lawrence, I just hope he can still be a top rider AND be a class act at the same time. Yes, we do need trash talk on the podium. Yes, we do need aggressive riding and wicked block passes. That fires people up and makes things interesting. I love that in the sport. What I dont like is fighting with fans, getting drunk at the nationals, and wrecking a rental car while intoxicated. Hopefully that part of him is gone, thats all im saying. Keep being Jason on the track, but be a “good guy” off of it.

J-Law looks really really fast, Dungey will be hard to beat though. I just wish the kid would respect the sport more, his personality is fine but getting drunk before races make the sport look unlegitimate and like you don’t have to be in peak physical form to race dirtbikes at a high level

Look, these guys are kids being expected to act like adults. You give a kid lots of money, fame, and pretty much anything else he wants and you expect him to act like an angel? Why do you think almost all other pro sports require a college background in order to compete? Alot of the other KIDS in the AMA can pull of a real profesional image and my respect goes out to them, but don’t tell me they don’t party the way he does just not out in the open. Either that or they want to. So he’s made some mistakes, but lets focus on why were even talking about him, He’s faster than you, He’s won a sx championship, He’s started a race team, He’s gotten his foot back in the door to show you whats up. Sounds to me like he is growing up just not at your pace but don’t count on him going anywhere but up.

finally someone that makes some sense. Supercross/motocross is one of the only sports that requires a teenager to act like a responsible adult. You look at any college campus and kids his same age are doing the same things. Parties, fights, good times, whatever. Damn the nfl wont even let a player be eligible until their junior year for the draft. Your expecting a 16, 17 year old kid to suddenly become an adult when they handed huge contracts with no one their to tell them what to do. And i don’t want to hear how you where perfect at that age, hes young and immature what do you expect? I blame the industry not j-law. Yeah hes messed up, but hes got talent, you dont win a championship with no talent. For his sake i hope he can turn it around…hes a character and thats what this sport needs…not bland cookie cutter riders
