A giant question mark hung over Anaheim stadium until late in the afternoon. With a track that had been covered for nearly three days, no one was sure what was underneath all of that plastic. One thing that was certain though was the fact that leading up to the race, rain had been off and on in Southern California, and that meant there would probably be some mud. Wandering through the pits, mechanics had been taking every precaution in the case of a mudder, with some old tried and true methods, and some new ones. Check out the gallery to see some of the more interesting techniques for mud preparation that were used, plus some general sites around the pits that were pretty mellow due to the questionable weather.

Whats up with Shaun Irwin sharpening up the kick starter on the Jake Weimer’s bike? Is that going to help on the track? For What?

holdmydill, probably he was anticipating jake falling, in which jake boots would be muddy and the kick starter would be slippery.

I can’t stand watching the coverage anymore on tv. It’s the same 5 commercials, which are played every three minutes. I’m getting a DVR to record them then I’ll watch them later at night. Speed is a joke! Plus the racing in the 450 class is boring! Also, why does California get so many rounds? You can’t tell me there aren’t any other places to race. Michigan lost their round. Give us one of the five rounds California gets. Racing here is huge. Ask any pro and they’ll tell you how much they like Red Bud.

That cold weather up there has given you some serious negativity man! as far as air time and consistency go, speed’s coverage has excellent. And did you actually watch the race? There were not many lead changes but a last lap pass attempt by morais? you can’t ask for much more than than. plus i hate to say it but SoCal is the largest market for motocross in the WORLD, so of course its going to get more rounds.

I feel ya dog on the cmmercials, those toyota ones make me so sick i mute the tv when they come on. on the plus i am sure glad to be able to see those races on speed and cbs. without the arenas and monster mnt. in alabama us easterners dont have much to do in the winter to stay stoked.
