The park is a motorcycle, four-wheel drive, and all-terrain vehicle use area. There are about 130 miles of marked trails for all levels of off-highway vehicle (OHV) operators and hikers, from flat and level trails to steep and narrow. Also, over 150 miles of National Forest off-road routes available.

From Highway 154, at the top (you’ll see an old store on your right heading towards Santa Ynez) take East Camino Cielo. OR Gibralter Road will get you up there as well (take a right at the top. The parking lot for the OHV road is on the right side of East Camino Cielo 12.5 miles from Highway 154. There is a nice motocross type track up there too. The trail dead ends over Carpenteria. There might even be a natural hot springs after the Ranger Station. Don’t ride the soft knobbies… the trails is rocky / hard pack usually.
