If you saw our Product Report in the 2008 Buyer’s Guide of TransWorld Motocross, you’ll no doubt know how good the Loudmouth air filter systems are. In fact, we gave the Loudmouth a whopping perfect 10! These things add noticeable power to your machine, much like adding an expensive exhaust system, but for a fraction of the price.
Price: $160.00

You have got to be kidding me. $160 for an air filter?

First off no filter screen just a foam filter. Thats scary on a $7500.00 bike. There website claims up to 4HP gains with filter. I dyno test bikes without filters and they dont produce that much HP verses with filter…………..Come On!!!

I have one of the first ones produced and the system works remarkably… It is real…
Here are the dyno results. http://www.loudmouthmx.com/sitex/images/stories/newy.jpg
Second, it was not only tested on a 7500.00 bike it was tested on a 26,000.00 factory motor and it produced the same results over the stock system with the screen removed (which is how they all run them). It was a revelation to them too…
Also Please dyno then try to criticize…!

You’re paying for the inlet that allows an increase in airflow velocity and volume.
You my test bikes on a dyno but that is using the same stock inlet that if you believe it or not effects the physics of the air coming in.
The filter is fire resistant so whats so scary?
Try it and I guarantee you’ll be surprised and satisfied.
They have been producing things like these for automobiles for years, relatively same design, the $140 K&N FPIK intake and filter on my 3000GT produced results that you could feel and see in track times and dynos.

this filter is a nock off of the twinair system which is much beter. save your money dont give it to cheap imposters and ride more that will make you faster.

Actually this is an intake… and I believe Twin Air is now making filters for LoudMouthMX too…
Yea.. Some people disregarded the Beatles too….
December 14th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
comparing the beatles to the air filter system? i can see that. this filter system is bigger than jesus since it’s actually real. i can get down with that.

I’d like to read more info on this Dyno test, size of bike, year of bike, time of year, was it useing pump gas? If its a semi stock 4 stroke, as far as I can see by adding this air filter system is cheap horsepower could be handy in the race to the first corner.

My 08′ KX 450F is fast enough I would not beneifit from this system! BUY a ICAT aswell with it youll be pumping out 10 extra HP..
December 29th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
I’m just a back home boy in AZ, whats a ICAT ?

Not to sound stupid but would this system benefit a 2 stroke?
February 4th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
Okay I just bought this product for my 08 CRF250R and it really didn’t do much at all, I mean I got a little more torque, and the bike pulled a tad farther. But overall I don’t think this product is worth the $150. They say you can put it on in 15 minutes, but thats bs unless your a pro mechanic, took me like 45 minutes because those fricken tiny bolts!

HAHAHA 160???????? Do 4-strokes suck that bad? 1000 for an exhaust and 160 for an airfilter??? lmao
March 1st, 2009 at 9:15 am
Filter is $26 (or less)… For 2 Strokes & 4. Its a start up KIT to get access to HP’s that you never before could. Protects the engine much better and makes filter changes a 2 minute affair from start to finish. You’ll be sayin “HAHAHA” when you find out all the Pro’s are benefiting from it… Ashley Fiolek won the 2008 Season on this system. Probably the only MXA 5 Star Rated, TWMX: 10, product you can get on your bike. Regarded as the “best investment for under $200 you can make.”

Ok there is a few possible explanations This filter could actually a good buy therefore getting a 10 it seems iffy because how does a filter add that much power i have a twin air aftermarket one that was 250 dollars and it didnt gain that much but if you hadn’t noticed honda also won bike of the year for along time… (which is impossible cause they suck =P) but they also had alot of ads in the mag so they must have been pumping alota cream to transworld and maybe worked out a few deals for them to win but i find it wierd that KAWSAKI!!! woohoo finally won but you also find alot less honda ads so it could be the same case with the filter getting a 10 money runs everything! but like i said it could just also be good

we run the Loud Mout on one of our 250crf 08 with a light modified cylinder head (polished ports) and a recluse slipper cluch in the German open champion ship.
Our rider beats the 450 on the starting line with a power output over the complete range that is incredible and realy surprised us.
The dyno test can’t realy tell you how the bike feel on the track. The response of the engine when you hit the gas is incredible and that is what the rider wants. We are going to change all our bikes to that system! thats a great tuning for a low budget teams like us.
Sorry for my bad english!
Harry JS Racing Germany
we run 3 crf 250 08
1 crf 450 08
1 kxf 250 09

iCAT is a spark/ignition enhancer, runs cleaner stronger current for more powerful and complete combustion. Runs about $200 and I’ve heard its simple to install.
April 29th, 2009 at 3:09 pm
I just installed this kit on my bike not to long ago it made a huge difference in the low and mid and slight in the high! best 160 i ever spent!!
April 30th, 2009 at 5:09 pm
i dont get it they make this for every bike even huskys why not ktm whats the deal with that ?!?!?!
May 21st, 2009 at 6:48 am
….. screw the filter, just buy one of them there new fancy fandangled power bands. Turned my dirtcicle into darned neer rocket ship.
July 4th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
i took my airbox off.plenty of extra power .gotta clean the filter choke though
July 21st, 2009 at 9:47 pm
I use one on my 05 CRF 450 and I really didn't notice any kind of power addition, but what I did notice was the ease of maintainance now. I love hondas, but they had to have designed the shi#$st air box/ filter setup ever. Now I can take it off faster, clean it, and put it back together in half the time.
July 30th, 2009 at 4:32 am
I used the CAI off my 2005 VW Jetta GLI on my 2005 CRF 450R and it worked EVEN BETTER!!!
But seriously, I bought this system at the beginning of summer this year and I'm so glad I did… so much better power than stock! (even better than the cone filter poking off the side of my bike :P)
August 29th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
well, I installed this product on my sons bike 07 crf250r , other mods are yosh complete system, hotcams 1 , JD jet kit , the carb bowl thingy ,, Sorry couldn't think of the name.. He said the power was better ,But ; at a slower rpm the bike was shutting off .?So, I don't know if it needs to be rejetted or not ..I am about to take it off to see if the bike still does this putting the stock system back on ..because 5 days ago at the track it didn't have any problems with anything ..and now ?

I have one on my 09 Yz 250f and it feels better . But I looked at it from another point of view, I live in Florida and sand in the air box is a big issue. I not sue if you have ever had to rebuild a 4-stroke but its rediculus. So being that it clamp on the front, making a better seal than the stock setup sold me. I love this intake. Its a must buy in my book.

4 strokes don't suck, you probally just don't know how to ride. I ride both it is just different power. 4 strokes in my mind have way more useable power. The only reason y 2 storke stuff is cheaper is because they don't make them any more besides yz, and ktm. all i have to say is if you r knocking on any kinda of moto bike you need to find a new hobby cause the rest of us moto heads don't need powder puffs like you around
