Everyone should have a chest protector in their gear bag, plain and simple. You aren’t Ryan Villopoto or Ben Townley and out in front of everyone. Inevitably there is going to be someone in front of you at some point on the track and you will be pelted with roost. OR…you will tag a hay bale and end up on your back (and no, Corndog does not find every hay bale on the track). It hurts a lot less with a chest protector. RV and BT still run ’em and they are out in front of the pack. You should too.
So if you don’t have a protector, or your current one looks as though two dogs fought over it in front of a junkyard, consider the Thor Sentinel. It features an injection-molded shell, ratchet buckle system, and plenty of venting. It fits most riders 120lbs to 200lbs.
