2014 Anaheim II Supercross | KTM Conquers Qualifying

Monster Energy Supercross is back in Anaheim, California, for round three of the 2014 season. The track built for the second stop at Angels Stadium is a copy of what racers faced in 2001, and it’s interesting to see the lines and speeds modern four strokes are able to attack the technical course with. A warm front moved over Southern California in recent days, bumping temperatures up to the mid 80s and drying sections of the track.

Tonight’s racing will once again be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1, with coverage beginning at 7:30PM West Coast Time. Check your local listings for more information.

250 Timed Qualifying

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson set the early pace in the final 250 session of the afternoon, but his time on the track was not without issue. A slower rider did not jump the triple leading into the home plate area of the track, which caused Dakota Tedder to check up on the jump and slow. Wilson was just behind when this took place and came down onto the rear end of Tedder’s Kawasaki, but was able to remount and continued to control the board. In the waning moments of the session, two-race winner Jason Anderson wicked up the pace of his Rockstar Energy Racing KTM and posted the fastest 250 lap of the afternoon, a 51.852. Roughly a second separates the riders in the top-five, with Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda’s Malcolm Stewart third, GEICO Honda’s Zach Osborne fourth, and Cole Seely fifth.
