For years fans called for the return of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship to Glen Helen Raceway, the San Bernardino circuit known around the world for its high speed and daunting hills. A strained relationship between the Bud Feldkamp owned facility and MX Sports forced the tour to venture elsewhere in California, but two venues in four years made returning to Glen Helen the logical decision. It would take diplomacy from the two parties to strike a deal, but earlier this year is was announced that the kickoff of the championship would once again be in Southern California and race fans rejoiced. The turnout was incredible, with over 27,000 people funneled through the gates, a record for the track that’s hosted the event fifteen times since 1996 and we have an in-depth look at everything from the 2014 Glen Helen MX.
